cab10 and 15 (old ones) were easily broken.

I am quite surprised by Pete's claim of the sturdiness of cab10

I still remember the price ... it was 15-18 years ago:

price is in rupiah before the indonesia economy crashed. USD$ was about 1 to 1,500

    blacken: Rp. 26,000
    carbonex 8: Rp. 48,000
    carbonex 9: Rp. 52,000
    carbonex 15: Rp. 55,000
    carbonex 20: Rp. 120,000

Errrr..... on the other hand....hmmm..... maybe a trade for say, 5 Armortec 700s could also do the trick....!

If the Cab 10 and Cab 15 were dinosaurs, what does that make my Cab 20 and 3 of my Cab 8's? The Cab 8's are still in good shape and highly playable. In fact, they still have good feel.

I also had a Cab 7 or the aluminium version of the Cab 3 that Mongoose has. Unfortunately, that racket bit the dust many years ago.

Now if the Cab 10 and Cab 15 are dinosaurs, then the Cab 8 and Cab 7 were early dinosaurs.

I also have a prehistoric predinosaur with strings that are just as old, namely the Yoneyama 8000. Yoneyama was the old name for Yonex and this racket is still playable (heavy though) but the strings are ancient. My Yoneyama is an early version and not the later Yonex versions:D.

For the old Cab 10 and Cab 15, these two rackets are I wanted to buy, but I did not have money to buy at their selling period. (I was a junior secondary student at that time). So I am now trying to collect them to fullfill my dream.

But the base price of these two rackets are too expensive. I have seem the bid price is around US$30 for these two rackets before. So just wait and no need the hurry.

It is wonderful that this site has so many persons are having the past hero in hand. This is my first time to see the close up of Cab 3. If possible I want to see the picture of Yoneyama 8000, since I heard this name for a long time, but I never seem the picture. Please help!!;)

How does one insert a picture? I can try to shoot my Yoneyama 8000 with my digital camcorder using the still mode. The resolution is bad though. Alternately, I can shoot in film and scan it in, but that will take a long long time for me to shoot a whole roll of film. If anyone can tell me how to upload a jpeg, I can try to put up a picture of the YY 8000 as well as my cab 8 original.

    Didn't Luan Jin use cab10?

ronk, love to see pics of the yoneyama, i am too young to have seen those!

yeah, the cab8/cab20 is older than the cab10/15, however, cab8/cab20 are much more popular a racket and thus there are many of them in users' hands. that makes them a little bit less interesting. rare is interesting, i guess...

the cab3 though, is a really rare one. and the one we saw here is in really mint condition too!

i also have a carbonex 8DX at home, that is not too common either.

other rackets that i would love to see a pic of is the cab18. i used to own one, but stupidity sunk in somehow and i sold it to a friend, and then his brother sat on it the next day and broke it!

How about a Cab1, anyone know what's the history about this model? I saw this racket hanging in a shop a few months back.

My friend has the Cab10 and it 'looks' sturdy cause his 3yr old son is 'using' it, dragging it around, hammering the floor and such.

    Correction,

cab 20 is younger than cab10 and 15.
cab10 is fibreglass frame or something like that. definately not metal

I got an old cab9 (gold), anybody got the silver one? That must have come out around 1984.

    Is there a carbonex 1?

you know, looking at these dinosaurs, Yonex is still making the same claims about it's racquets in the present day. Guess that's the price of ..... "progress".

Actually, the original Cab 20 is a year newer than the original Cab 15. The original Cab 8 is older and the Cab 7 came out at the same time as the Cab 3. I was thinking about the Cab 3 or Cab 7 but bought the Cab 7. My Cab 7 broke a long time ago and I threw it away.

Here is a picture of the preYonex Yoneyama 8000. Yonex also made an 8000 but the cone in the Yonex model is plastic while the cone in the Yoneyama is wood with the words best balance.
