    This was the best part:

"Unlike judo, croquet has a distinguished and civilised history," said Laer Diputs, president of the ICF. "It's also not like badminton where you simply run around wildly, hitting back and forth. Croquet is very competitive and depends on a combination of physical skill and careful strategy. Most of all, success depends on a cool assessment of risks and probabilities, yes, much like chess."

Wonder if the IOC put the number of Chinese badminton fans into consideration?

Badminton not to be included in 2012 Olympics!?!?

I just read in the news section of BadmintonCentral that badminton is going to be removed from the Olympics in 2012. According to Laer Diputs, president of the ICF."Unlike judo, croquet has a distinguished and civilised history. It's also not like badminton where you simply run around wildly, hitting back and forth." I'd like to play with this guy and see him "run around wildly"...

Actually Badminton is being replaced by Counterstrike. ICF doesn't stand for International Croquet Federation, it stands for International Counterstrike Federation.

Really, wow, I knew australia did, the fighting roo's or something RIDICULOUS but wow. I still don't think if South Africa dropped hockey it would be axed though, too much of north america, europe, and northern asia have a large following of the game

    I was just watching

the Asian Championships, mens singles in the semi finals, Sony Diwi Kuncoro vs Park Sung Hwan, posted by Modious and the commentator said that badminton might be axed from the olympics in 2012 and he said I think judo was on the chopping block as well. When I heard this I was confused, wasn't that just an April Fools joke??? has he been fooled all this time? or is it real :|
