UNCLEs are always injured, flu, fever, sick, not free & etc.

If they lose that's mean they are not qualify to represent the country because they always got problems.:D

No point betting. Even if LWW/CTF lost to Fuzzy, 1stly: it's not a big hoo haa losing to team mate. 2ndly: decision is final, they will still go to Olympics. lastly: doesnt mean they can't do well in OG. :)

Fuzzy/Zakry can handle the pressure. But their skills is still not as good compare to Fu/Cai and the Koreans. However i'm sure they will go far and still have alot of opportunity in the future.

Zakry/Fairuz are still 'new' compare to TBH/KKK n CTF/LWW n yet they never win any major tournament like AE o WC..hence,they do not have any pressure like KKK/TBH have..Most Mas players have a common weakness, can't handle pressure after winning a major tournament..:)
I hope they aren't one of them..

Tan Fook-Wan Wah get the nod

    By : Ajitpal Singh

Lee Wan Wah (left) and Choong Tan Fook have experience on their side and will be motivated to win a medal at the Olympics.

CHOONG Tan Fook-Lee Wan Wah will feature in their third consecutive Olympics in Beijing. The BA of Malaysia (BAM) coaching committee yesterday unanimously decided to pick the veteran pair and Koo Kien Keat-Tan Boon Heong ahead of Zakry Latif-Fairuzizuan Tazari.
BAM president Datuk Nadzmi Salleh said the committee selected both pairs based on current ranking and performance over the past year.

"We consulted the National Sports Insitute (NSI) doctors today (yesterday) and they concluded that Wan Wah's minor shoulder injury will not affect his performance in training or at the Olympics," said Nadzmi at the National Sports Council (NSC) in Bukit Jalil yesterday.

"We felt that, after the report by NSI, Tan Fook-Wan Wah shouldn't be denied a chance to compete in the event as they have proven themselves as one of the better pairs in the country.

"On BAM's part, we have fulfilled our promise, made a year ago, to select only the best pairs for the Olympics."
Nadzmi, who doubles up as the coaching committee chairman, now wants Kien Keat-Boon Heong and Tan Fook-Wan Wah to concentrate on improving their performance in preparation for Beijing.

Nadzmi also said the shuttlers must aim for the best result in Beijing as he believes the gold medal target set last year is within reach.

"All of them should try their best for the gold medal if not silver or bronze."

He said World No 2 Lee Chong Wei and Kien Keat-Boon Heong are genuine gold medal contenders.

"They have proven many times that they have the potential."

However, Nadzmi did not discount Tan Fook-Wan Wah chances.

"They have experience on their side and will be motivated to win a medal as it will likely be their last Olympics," he added.

The others who will compete in Beijing are World No 10 Wong Mew Choo and Wong Pei Tty-Chin Eei Hui.

Beijing-bound pair vow to do their best

    2008/05/30

WORLD No 4 Choong Tan Fook-Lee Wan Wah have pledged to do their very best in what could be their last chance to win an Olympic medal. The doubles pair could not hide their relief when BA of Malaysia (BAM) president, Datuk Nadzmi Salleh (pic) gave them the green light to travel to Beijing.

"I'm relieved with the decision. I feel our selection is justified based on ranking and performance," said Wan Wah at the National Sports Council (NSC) in Bukit Jalil yesterday.

"A year ago, we set our minds on qualifying for our third Olympics and today (yesterday), the association showed that they still have trust in us.

"Now we want to repay BAM for having faith in us by doing our best."

Tan Fook-Wan Wah made an impressive Olympics debut when they finished fourth in the 2002 Sydney Games, and then reached the quarter-finals four years later in Athens.

Wan Wah also stressed that Tan Fook and himself will be more focused and will also work closely with national doubles coach Rexy Mainaky in training.

"We need to train comprehensively under the guidance of Rexy to strengthen our game and consistency towards preparing for the event," said Wan Wah, who admitted uncertainty and stress before BAM made its decision yesterday.

"Now that it's settled, those not selected can help Koo Kien Keat-Tan Boon Heong and us to prepare." Boon Heong said Kien Keat and himself were not surprised with Tan Fook-Wan Wah's inclusion.

"We need to work harder now to improve.

"My performance so far this year has not been good and I need to make adjustments," said the 21-year-old Boon Heong, who added that if Kien Keat and himself can regain their form, an Olympic medal is within reach. -- AJITPAL SINGH

A bit different from the rest as it's interview with Zakry.

Zakry said he & Fairuz not disappointed, nothing to be disappointed about.
Also uncles deserve to go as they're higher ranked, they are more qualified, BAM has made right choice, the decision is fair.
Uncles have geared towards preparing for OG since last year. ie early-early already uncles aim for OG & work hard. Zakry said Fuzzy were focusing towards TC & Open tourneys.

By that time, they'll be very mature. Just hoping that their skill doesn't wear away, however.

Fuzzy had their chance to up their OG points end of last year & this year. If they had won or finished runner-up in 2 or 3 SS, then only got more chance.
Uncles are highest ranking Msia MD, and they only played 2 additional SS(Denmark & France) compared to Fuzzy. Fuzzy went for 2008 Korea, uncles didnt.
GP Gold - 2007 Taiwan Fuzzy went, uncles didnt go, uncles went 2007 Macau (& got runner-up). After 2007 Indonesia, Fuzzy havent got any runner-up yet, me thinks. Copenhagen Masters 2007 dont count into OG points.

I'm surprised BAM had to emphasise to malay press that uncle's selection is not favouritism, should be quite clear.
