I had a MP88 3u4g Blue colour. I had it for 4 years after clashing with my Partner it broke a week ago. I was a good racket with decent power and good at defense. As i couldn't find one in my area I switched to NS6000.
MP 88 is a great racket, I switched it from Nanospeed 9000s to MP 88... simply because it was lighter and better defensive. although, for my smashes i have to get use to.
mp88 blue 4uG4 was my first yonex racket. loved it, good power, great defense, great feel, and very fast, but control is lacking a bit due to its light weight and flex. the racket is also very fragile and I broke 2 mp88s in a period of three years. as a result, I moved on to W16. maybe comparing it to the W16 made it feel not as accurate and consistent(haven found any racket that gives me more control than a W16), lol. I would like to get another mp88 for it being such a great doubles racket
Differences: 1) Price: MP99>MP88>MP LTD 2) Shaft Stiffness: MP99>MP LTD>MP88 3) Weight: MP88 can come in 3U and 4U, whilst MP99 and MP LTD come in 3U and 2U (?) 4) Balance point. 5) Availability. 6) what else could be there ? The stiffness is a big factor which makes the MP88 different from the MP99/LTD. The MP88's shaft is more flexible than the MP99/LTD shaft.
about the price, i agree wif u sir. i find the MP99 a lil bit cosy than MP88.the rest i havent try MP88. maybe i have to buy one.
hi i'm new here and i'm now using a red one also~ 3ug4 same as yours... actually i am looking hard for a new racket and semi-retired my MP88 before it broke (especially it's a red one, u know...) i have not tried the blue one yet..... do you think any difference between the red one and the blue one?
