Attendance:

Welcoming our first timers to CCC@MSAC:

Courts hired: (All to 11:00pm)
Court No.10 from 7:30pm
Court No.11 from 8:30pm
Court No. 6 from 9:00pm
Court No. 1 from 10:00pm
Court No. 2 from 10:00pm
Court No.12 from 10:30pm

The 6-aside (2 Ladies & 4 Men) Friendly Match was running way behind schedule again *(More comments below). Fortunately our Social players attendance(9 only) was lower than usual (kikks9 was wrong... ), so 2 courts were used for the FM again. Same as last Wednesday, there were some court bookings@MSAC being cancelled, so we took them over. Again, we took over all available courts@MSAC for the night.

CCC Friendly Match (6-aside):
Thanking btchia for the results posted as quickly as he could.
Congratulations to our winning CCC CATS in the rematch !!!

*(Comments for above): After having trialled the 6-aside twice, we found that our FM of 9 events playing 'Best of 3 games to 21 points, max at 30' on one court for a duration of 2.5 hours is probably too difficult to achieve. At supper after our session, it was suggested that future 6-aside FM would be played as 'Best of 3 games to 15 points, max at 21'.

CCC Friendly Match (4-aside):
We shall trail a 4-Men FM next week, Wednesday 11-Jun-2008. Details can be found located at: click here . Our CCC UNDER DOGS will be playing our CCC CATS.

CCC Shuttlecock usage:
Our players are becoming aware of our shuttlecock usage system. It's great to enter a court to find a shuttlecock in the middle of the court under the net awaiting for us.

CCC Whiteboard usage:
Thanking our more experienced players for helping newer players how to use it.

Overall, it was an exciting night for our FM players and an enjoyable night for our Social Games players.

CCC members to understand what our club stands for...

A post was made in our Friday CCC@Waverley thread. It is regarding to our policies/objectives of our CCC Badminton Club. It is best to post it here as well.

Yes, many CCC visitors have told us that we are a very different club from many other clubs. If only our visitors take time to read our policies, located at: click here , they will understand why CCC is different. In fact, I read it often so as to remind myself what we stand for.

Just to remind ourselves of our policies, they are listed below:
(1) To promote Badminton to as many new players in Melbourne as possible. (We are a Community Club, not a Private Group of players)

(2) To look after all players, regardless of their skill levels. (We look after weaker players as well, not just the highly skilled ones)

(3) To have participation as the key to the enjoyment of Badminton, not the winning or losing. (We look after Social players as well, not just the Competitive ones)

(4) To prevent any segregation within our players. (We encourage our players to play with every other players, not to form cliques within CCC)

(5) To select appropriate players for teams formation without bias/prejudice. (However, CCC members do have priorities over our CCC visitors)

(6) To promote all 5 events, namely;
(a) Mens Singles
(b) Womens Singles
(c) Mens Doubles
(d) Womens Doubles, and
(e) Mixed Doubles
(When attendances are bigger, Doubles do have priorities over Singles)

(7) To organise many different activities to entertain our players. (Here, we need event organisers to do the work. Now and then, many members are too busy to have time to organise activities)

Most of our CCC players prefer to play at MSAC on Wednesday nights

Hi svmks,

Because most of our CCC players prefer to play at MSAC on Wednesdays, we have moved from Waverley to MSAC for Wednesday nights. However, our Friday nights are still based at Waverley.

Please read the first 5 post of this thread. And please note that currently, on Wednesday nights, we are to meet at MSAC Court No.10, not Court No.5.

Thank you btchia for the Badminton FM Results.

Congratulations to our CCC UNDER DOGS !!!

It was unfortunate that Andree-C wasn't feeling well... otherwise, a 3-3 score could have resulted and the teams' points would need to be added to determine the WINNERS.

The 4-a-side FM seemed to be running better than the 6-a-side. So, we might organise more 4-a-side matches in future. And our Social players were waiting for the FM players to finish their matches earlier... so that we can all play together.

Courts hired: (All to 11:00pm)
(1) Court No.10 from 7:30pm
(2) Court No.11 from 8:30pm
(3) Court No. 6 from 9:00pm
(4) Court No. 5 from 9:30pm
(5) Court No. 1 from 10:00pm
(6) Court No. 3 from 10:00pm
(7) Court No.12 from 10:30pm

Again, we hired all available courts at MSAC. Unfortunately, our Social players attendance (8 only) was lower than normal and we wasted money hiring so many courts.

However, we could see that some of our players were enjoying Singles games, namely; Nancy-L, Elaine-D, Lee-C, Daniel-L, Yin-L, etc... At the end of the night, we invited Albert Park Badminton players to join us when their club finished at 10:00pm.

CCC Shuttlecock usage:
Our players are becoming aware of our shuttlecock usage system. It's great to enter a court to find a shuttlecock in the middle of the court under the net awaiting for us.

CCC Whiteboard usage:
Edward-C erased our Whiteboard when we were packing up for the night, so some info which I could have used for this report went missing.


Overall, it was another great night for our FM players and an enjoyable night for our Social players.
