Not many people can differentiate them if looked at alone. But with a goose feather shuttle to compare, you can easily pick out the one that has duck feather. Another better method is to use a micrometer, but the hand and eyes are good enough.
I have not come across shuttles with a mix of goose and duck feathers. It does not make sense because it will play worse than an all duck feather shuttle.

i see.. but 54 is a little bit expensive.. might just stick with masterpiece. MBA has increased the rental somemore, badminton is quite an expensive sport nowadays.

    Why the shuttlecock smashed

Last month I used this shuttlecock but it is smashed by cockroaches. The feathers also removed. The plastic is very durable, but I don't like plastic. The feathers are good. Why it is called shuttlecock. Because they are making in feathers of the cock.

i do sell protech shuttlecocks in my shop but i really doesnt recomment players to use it. currently protech shuttlecocks is really bad and i got a lot of complain about it.even it doesnt matter is masterpeice or anything else.got once my customer show me the shuttle is like got burn from it.its really embarassing.i told the protech salesman but he doesnt gv me a good answer at all and he blame me back for my mstake.

anyway i would recomment some brand like kx.rsl, apacs and rcl. if u are a player who like fast speed,i should say kx and rcl.

very recent encounters with protech shuttles (very recent batches i assume) really put me off. a few semi decent smashes can cause 1 or 2 of the feathers to break and distort the shuttle's flight significantly. this happened for both higher and lower end models

and to top it off, the price increase kicked in not long ago. like what mr killer mentioned, it seems buyers are getting less when they pay more

hey, terror!i really agree what u said.do u know got once my customer even told me that he will not use it even though its free and even many badminton halls are doing promotion and selling it cheaply last month its because the shuttle is really really terrible.

among so many badminton salesman i deal with, protech salesman is the most egostic people and they like to condamn others brand.like they are the best in everything.their racket and string is expensive and lousy.it does not worth for the price that they are selling.

example u wont buy a charlton racket for $300 to $400 dollars.

    hi,mugmug.
2 years ago, i would agree with protech has the better quality of shuttles, but since last year i found out the following fact's::mad:

The following is the sequence of ducks feathers shuttles in every Protechs' Tubes which inclusive Masterpiece,Champhionship and Tournament only.

    (G=Goose Feather,D=Low Grade Duck Feather)

    GGG DGG GDG GGD or
    GDG GGD DGG GGG or
    GGD GDG GGG DGG.

You will be surprised when you check follow the above's sequences.

    Analysis of the Protechs' shuttles:

    1. Masterpiece = Grade B or C Goose Feathers with 3 pcs of Low Grade Duck
    feathers

    2. Champhionship = Grade C or D Goose Feathers 3 pcs of Low Grade Duck
    feathers

    3. Tournament = Grade D or worse Goose Feathers 3 pcs of Low Grade Duck
    feathers
    4. Ultimum = Grade B+ duck feathers

    5. Platinum = Grade A or Grade B+ Goose Feathers (this 1 is good but not
    worth cost RM60++)

And one more thing, there are 2 pcs of shuttles which their flight is Grade C*.
(*Grade C's Flight=its flight shakes obviously)

So, only 7 pcs out of 1 doz are considered good, not worth.

I am a regular player and have bought shuttles from AJ Racket Puchong ;)before as well and i will not promote any brands of shuttles here.

    hi,thunder killer.
The salesman you mentioned i think is Daniel who is the sales manager, a fatty 30s++ man with pimples on face, right?

2 months ago, when i bought shuttles at AJ Racket Puchong, i saw him having conversations with the shop's owner.
