    players and team as a whole have their up and down. if you're good and among the best you will have more ups than downs. also if you're good you can and know how to get out of the downs and be better still. that's why the recent bad results (well, the bad result with the current rankings, 10/15 top 3 are chinese nationals) is good for china as a wake up call to prepare better for the OG.

    Thats right....but does not mean they could win 4 or 5 titles...not only China will wake up..INA will wake up too with bad resulst of XD and MD ( INA OPEN for example)....
    The point..as you said that you are based on past records, is not necessary to make China will grab 4 titles or more...LYB and the rest had admitted that it is geting tougher and unpredictable for some disciplines...

    possible but not there yet. interesting enough some people say one day women can surpass men in marathon! As for chess, not really sport, is it? what annoying is even chess is not that physical demanding compare with other sports, women are still not as good. have to accept that we are different, no good to compare orange with apple really.

    so, i'm saying physically men are stronger than women. as sports in general are more geared to the physical side, women are in disadvantage to start with.

    Not the sports that Madbad mentioned - those sports more on skills.;)

    One day we must have a match between the female top players & male players, maybe medium level? :D

    WOrld no 1 squash player Nicol David have been reported to have beaten her team mates, Msia's top male players (but not top in the world, top 20s I think), either Ong BH or Azlan, in training.

    WMC has beaten Khoo CC in a 2008 TC & UC training match, to be fair KCC normally plays MD & doesnt play MS competitively. He's 21 or 22.

    Any takers would like to go up against China's tomboys? Top 100 MD?:p

    Females versus Males in Badminton matches ???

    .
    :D:D:D Hahaha... Very often, many of us do not read the title of the thread that we have entered into, in our BC discussions.

    This thread is titled "Who will win the Badminton Golds @ Beijing ?".

    How come we are talking about 'Females versus Males in Badminton Matches?' :confused::confused::confused:

    Cheers... chris-ccc

    MD - LYD/JJS OR Fu/Cai
    WD - I don't follow
    MX - Zheng Bo/Gao Ling

    WAKE UP! YOU'RE DREAMING!!! :D:D
    2 gold medals is possible but 4-5 gold medals is unrealistic; based on CHN players' current performances.

    My prediction
    MS= LCW
    WS= TR
    MD= JJS/LYD
    WD=any CHN players
    XD= NW/LN

    One gold medal for every badminton nation :)
