racket model: Yonex ArcSaber 7 shaft serial: 7094167 cone code : 280283TH source : Ebay: racketwise price : $140, $170 (with shipping) the reason i ask this is because it says C.S. cap but it doesn't look like the C.S. cap that was on armortec series =[ is this real?
I bought it pretty much knowing it's a fake (I'm kinda poor), but it's the best racket I've ever owned. It's very convincing though (very light, and the best player on my team thought it was real), so it'd be nice to know for sure. ---->8---- cut here (include this line) ---->8---- racket model: Yonex Armortec 800 Offensive shaft serial: 6090145 cone code : 161205SP source : ebay: wind5858518 price : US$40 (that includes shipping from China) ---->8---- cut here (include this line) ---->8---- Btw, I bought it about a year and a half ago, so the ebay user's no longer active.
Thanks, malayali. Actually, I checked a few more sites on recognizing fakes, and noticed the fact that the 800's weren't around in 2000, hah... But I also checked some other details and it seems I got a pretty good fake, because the only difference from the real thing (aside from the serial code) are the round grommets instead of rectangular ones. It's served me well though, and I'll probably keep using it for awhile, until I'm actually good enough for a top-level racket.
Racketwise is a legit seller so there shouldn't be any problems. The CS CAP on ARC rackets have a different design from AT rackets.
If you pay close attention to the cone, look at the Yonex logo (includes the text), you will see discrepancies simply by looking at the counterfeit to the genuine one.

According to my list Yonex rackets made in Japan, the cone code of 230183TH (date=23 Jan 2008), the valid shaft serial should be between 7393270 and 7399200. For the shafte serial of 7594340, the valid date code should be around 09048xCC (date=09 Apr 2008). IMHO, the Yonex Armortec 900 Power of shaft serial 7594340 cone code 230183TH is fake.
