UCLA Bruin Open is here once again. Posted is the information regarding the tournament. VENUE: Student Activities Center Gym and Pardee Gym (John Wooden Center). Measures have been taken to minimize glare. Campus map and directions are available at http://www.ucla.edu/map/. Daily parking permits ($9) are available at kiosks located at most campus entrances. Parking lot 4 (entrance from Sunset Blvd.) is the closest to the gym. EVENTS: B, C, D flights; MIXED and Funky DOUBLES and SINGLES events with consolation. All matches, 3x21 format rally scoring. Consolation matches will be one game of 21. Everyone is guaranteed two games. (ie: Losing your first match puts you in the consolation bracket) FEES: $20 for first event, $15 for the second event, and $10 for the third. Late entries will be charged $5 extra. Each participant receives one FREE raffle ticket per registered event and also receives a FREE T-shirt for registering in 2 or more events. SHUTTLECOCKS: Two feather shuttlecocks provided per match. Please bring your own additional shuttlecocks. ENTRY: Maximum 3 events. One must play at the level of the higher ranked player (i.e. C/D team must play in C or higher). We reserve the right to make any necessary changes. All entries due October 14. No refunds after October 14. SCHEDULE: Saturday: Early rounds of Singles, Funky, B, C, and D doubles and mixed. Sunday: Later rounds of Singles, Mixed Doubles, Doubles, and Funky. Warm-ups start at 9 a.m. Matches start at 9:30 a.m. on both days. More detailed schedule information will be posted on our website as soon as it is available. Court warm-ups limited to 5 minutes. 10-minute default rule STRICTLY enforced. AWARDS: $200 for Funky winner, $100 for Funky runner-up team. $100 for B winner, $50 for B runner-up. Trophies and medals will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and Consolation winners. Awards will be given to the winners on Sunday. RAFFLE: Conducted throughout Saturday. Prizes include racket bags, T-shirts, tubes of shuttlecocks, strings, and grips. FOOD: Cold drinks and snacks will be sold on site. Campus restaurants should also be open. bump... my question is can we play with different people in same event? like double play with 2 people (different flights, same event)?
