A bit unlucky to have lost the match, so close yet so far, but hey thats badminton. Should be proud of making it into the semis and played in the bronze medal match.
hope you guys will be fired up for China open and next year's world championship

Yup, congratulations for winning the title without having a coach .....

Not many pairs, even top level ones, can do that.

Congratulations to you and Lars for winning the Japan Open MD title.

Some questions though about the match which only you can provide the answers.

During the 2nd game, the Indonesian pair was protesting strongly to the umpire that the shuttle scraped your right cheek after it being driven hard by Lars who was behind you.

Did the shuttle really touch you? If it did, I am curious as to why you did not own up?

The incident happened at quite a high speed. However, after watching the slow-motion replay, many may feel that the Indonesians were justified in their protest about losing that point because of a possible double hit.

This is the reason why Jonas is probably the best person who can set the record straight concerning this incident.

Ya, slo-mo video and Gill Clark pretty much confirm the bird hit JR.

Maybe its because most countries/teams out there are bending the rules to win and the Danes are trying to stay competitive but JR probably should have set an example by being honest. Not your best day JR.

Honestly, It's the Umpire's call. Isn't it always the case where there is a dispute and the real final word is the umpire's?

To those that question, what if you were there and it brush your hair, what would you do?

Should JR have owned up? Of course not!
A player's job is to play his best on court. Not to dual role as an umpire assistant.
An umpire's job is to be alert at all times to ensure the best conditions for fair play so that the players can concentrate fully on their game. There's a reason why an umpire is seated on the high chair;to enable him to have the best view of the action until the bird lands on the floor.
When their opponents pointed out the fault and the umpire asked JR for confirmation, even if JR were to own up,people would still wonder why he didn't do it immediately when it happened.LP was right to let the umpire know it's his job to decide, not the player.
What the umpire should have done was just give the point to INA, taking the cue from LP's reply.DEN would have accepted that decision and be spared further embarrassment.
That's poor decision making on the umpire's part.
But I love Gillian Clark's keen observation and scientific deduction. She's getting better in her commentating work.
