Heya guys! I been playing with this player for a while now but now his just getting on my nerves. But what do u think of his actions? 1. says that he plays for fun yet in doubles, hogs the shuttlecock. 2. leaves the shuttlecock on his side when he hits the net. 3. spits in the shuttlecock when he serves. Not his shuttlecock, but mine. 4. only uses the good brand name shuttlecock. Avoids using crappy ones *although he mentions he plays for fun. 5. wants to challenge 2 on 1 by himself. 6. Wanted to pay for coaching with *Chris@CCC* but doesn't agree with him on how to hold the racket but still wants coaching with him.
Question is why do you even play with such a person? worse still, for more than once??? Just go play at CCC. I hope you wash your hand with Dettol after playing with him.
i will kick him every time i score point. i will spit on him every time i lose point. want to see what is Chris going to say ........... most likely, you are dreaming, not thinking
I remember a person with a similar personality. What is this person's name? If he is going to spit in your shuttlecocks then don't let him play with you. Simple as that. Don't be afraid to kick him out.
Since he is gone from your group now you don't have to worry about him anymore. When he joins another group they will have to deal with him
Yeah I know. it's sad to see players like this having fun yet making it difficult for ppl around him to enjoy themselves. also sad to see that when he left the group, he felt that he didn't do anything wrong.
I don't understand why there is such person... being rude and disrespectful but yet feels nothing wrong... you should be grateful he left the group even without apoligies...
There are always some people who do not have insight. Although it's easy to criticise others, there may be habits in ones ownself that may be irritating to others.
lol the only one i find over the top is the spitting on the shuttle. maybe it's a lucky charm lol. as for the other habits, you'll find plenty as you play over the years
1. says that he plays for fun yet in doubles, hogs the shuttlecock. [Depends what is meant by "hogs". If he is faster and is in a better stance to get to intercept a shot earlier, he might be in the right to take them.] 2. leaves the shuttlecock on his side when he hits the net. [Some people don't know the etiquette of retrieving the shuttle when they fault. Some are lazy.] 3. spits in the shuttlecock when he serves. Not his shuttlecock, but mine. [Ok, this one is definitely not good.] 4. only uses the good brand name shuttlecock. Avoids using crappy ones *although he mentions he plays for fun. [Could be rich...] 5. wants to challenge 2 on 1 by himself. [This *is* fun to do. I find nothing wrong with this one.] Overall, he sounds like someone not too fun to play with though.
Not all of the points should be too hard for you to deal with, or should cause you to want to banish him from your group. I'll go through them in order, and what I think of them. 1. says that he plays for fun yet in doubles, hogs the shuttlecock. 1. Whether this should be considered bad or not depends on whether or not he has the right to "hog" the shuttlecock; if he is a better player than his partner, then he should understandably be allowed to cover more ground. If he is about the same but he takes it more than is necessary, then he is in the wrong, but it should not provide you with sufficient reason to tell him to leave: some people are just used to playing Singles. I am like that myself, although I can keep to my own side when I'm playing Doubles, IF my partner is as good as me. 2. leaves the shuttlecock on his side when he hits the net. 2. Some people just don't know the etiquette of passing the shuttlecock over the net, or are too frustated after losing a point after considerable effort put in to winning it, to collect the shuttlecock: also, some are just lazy. 3. spits in the shuttlecock when he serves. Not his shuttlecock, but mine. 3. Now this is ludicrous and entirely wrong. If he does not abstain from it, then you have every right to kick him out. 4. only uses the good brand name shuttlecock. Avoids using crappy ones *although he mentions he plays for fun. 4. Perhaps he wants the real Badminton experience at its best; this cannot be experienced without the best, highest-grade shuttlecocks. You cannot blame someone for this; however, you can offer for him not to play if he refuses to use a bad shuttlecock. 5. wants to challenge 2 on 1 by himself. 5. This is a fun and intriguing way to play, challenge yourself and almost definitely improve. I play like this often, because, in all modesty, I know few people who are good enough to challenge me in Singles. You can't blame him for wanting to challenge himself.
i wonder whether the guy really spits into the shuttle or like some that i have seen blow at it before they serve... who really spits into a shuttle before they serve right?
