actually LCW let LD win so that LD can beat CL in final...
That's exactly the reason
At that time, Lin Dan was about three months into his comeback and still quite rusty and more error-prone than usual, so I won't read too much into JOJ's victory. Remember, during that period, so many lesser players stretched and pushed Lin Dan, including Liu Kai, Sho Sasaki, Hsueh Hsuan Yi, etc.
What he really means is play in order to make Lin Dan bored.
This MS now is a stark contrast to LD vs LCW...
slow as a snail
After the adrenaline-pumping high of the Lin-Lee match, this CL-WN match instantly becomes an anti-climax.
Even the crowd is muted.
at one time, i even thought the commentator went for a break when there is silence for a period.
Man how boring is the second ms sf?!
At least Chen Long is using his brain, not getting caught by his opponent's favourite tactic of net-lift-smash.
Even WS final was more exciting than this ...
Yeah, but you can't take away Jan O' Jorgensen's win over LD in 2012. That's back to back victories that Jan O' Jorgensen has over LD.
Jan O' Jorgensen is possibly the fittest player in the top 20 players. Morten Frost mentioned that Jan O' Jorgensen could have been a marathon runner because he has such good stamina. Because Jan O' Jorgensen is younger than LD, I would hazard to guess Jan O' Jorgensen has better stamina than LD at this phase of their career.
Get this slow boring match done quickly, so the quickfire MD match can be started
So guys let's dissect and analyse Lin Dan vs LCW match just now instead of this MS semi match boring 2 xD
Sometime I actually pity our Datuk who has all the skill to win but missed opportunities after opportunities. Heck, I don't think Lin Dan was even playing his best but knows when to pickup the pace and seized opportunity when presented.
Chong Wei playing style was very predictable, more than often, Lin Dan was there waiting for his forehand lift and went for the kill. Then there is CW famous un-force errors, sometime I question should he chose play so tight and leave no margin for error against top notch players?
I also question our same coaching staff unable to help Chong Wei overcome the hum forever, I just feel we need an excellent tactician like Morten Frost to make the last push for Olympic gold before it's too late ... There is no light in the tunnel to rely on any other Malaysian players to win.
I am still proud of CW, he'd tried his best!
I agree, the playing style of joj works better against LD. Or maybe if lcw played like how he plays during the japan open.
Chen Long certainly has a lot to learn from Lin Dan but since the two are still active rivals, he can only hope to learn from Sun Jun.
Actually, he did. And against LCW too.
LCW came back from 13-20 in the 3rd set to win the 2006 Malaysian Open.
Ah yes.. and Lin Dan learned his lesson.
