    ARE WE READY??

Day 4 will be my first day at the WC arena. travelling down to Anaheim in the morning and preparing to camp out there from 2pm till whenever it ends.

and what a treat we will have the whole day are filled with what i anticipate to be action packed tight matches.

    to start:

Xie vs. Mia - must watch. this will have the quality of the final, but at the 3rd round

Eriksen/Schjoldager vs. Xie Zhongbo / Zhang Yawen - old vs new. experience vs. speed.

Laybourn/Rytter Juhl vs. Nova/Lilyana - this is replay of the AE semi. need i say more? yes in fact, we want to see if Nova get caught up with his nerves again. and the ever so calm Lilyana...

Lee Hyun Il vs. Hafiz - this will be Hafiz first test

Eriko vs. Wang Chen - Eriko was very impressive in the SC, let's see how she performs against the veteran Wang Chen.

Bao Chunlai vs. Wong Choong Hann - no need to explain this one.

Peter Gade vs. Sony Dwi - another big match

Taufik vs. Polsana - did i say today will be a action packed day?

Eriksen/Hansen vs. Laybourn/Steffensen - what a bad draw, but we don't know who got the worse draw. we may see a changing of the guards in this match, and it won't even involve Jonassen.

Chan/Koo vs. Fu/Cai - top MAS pair vs. top CHN pair. too bad my malaysian friends won't be here till friday. we will see if they will ever get to see their #1 pair duke it out...

Wei/Zhao vs. Zhang/Zhang - Z/Z completely outplayed Huang/Gao in Singapore. they are in great form. i actually predict Z/Z in this match.

    last but not least:

Zhang/Gao vs. Saralee/Sudket - will this time be when Saralee/Sudket topple the former WC Zhang/Gao? i always think they have it in them, just need to bring out their passion and potential.

i will be armed with 3 Gigabyte worth of CF cards tomorrow. stay tuned for lots and lots of pictures!

Wow, looking at the lineup, I wish I was there. The live telecast should have started today.

i would give mia a win over xxf in 8/10 odd

Zhang/Gao vs. Saralee/Sudket : I hope this time sudket make less errors. Their 2005 sudirman match was exciting to the last point.

totally agree. if i produce no pictures for the day, that probably means i was too engrossed in the matches and forgotten completely about taking pictures. so please forgive... ;)

I just checked the website. Zhang/Gao will take on the Malaysian pair Koo/Wong tomorrow, not the Thai pair, Zhang/Gao should prevail. With no live telecast yet, I can just keep myself in front of the livescore.

    Yeah ..Zhang/Gao vs. Saralee/Sudket shouldn't come that soon :) . Hope KKK/Wong could give Zhang/Gao a tough time though.

Too bad the livecast isn't start on this day.

ops. my bad... it should be:

Gao/Huang vs. Saralee/Sathinee - Saralee/Sathinee are always the smarter one, but smartness may not be enough to overcome the consistent bombardment from the Chinese cannons. let's count how many time Huang Sui falls on her backside this time... ;)

The livescore is not that bad this time around.in fact it's pretty interesting just to be watching the livescore alone ,if your favourite player,or your country's player is playing ,given the fact that the live score is on most times updating regularly and most importantly the stats are also there which i think is the first time that we have stats with live scoring.

    Predictions

MS (R16) - the fun starts here
Q1 - Lin bt Sato, Lee HI bt Hafiz (Hafiz not enough match practice)
Q2 - Gade bt Sony, Chen Hong bt Ng Wei
Q3 - Lee CW bt Joppien, Bao bt Wong CH
Q4 - Taufik bt Boonsak, Kenneth bt Aamir Ghaffar
    Shaky:
Chen Hong - shaky at best, maybe he will recover enough for this
Lee Hyun Il - Hafiz is not easy meat
Bao Chunlai - depends on Bao's form

WS (R16) - biggest test for Xie
Q1 - Zhang bt Yippy, Yao Jie bt Mori
Q2 - Pi bt Li Li, Xu bt Salakjit
Q3 - Cheng Shao-C bt Schenk, Wang Chen bt Hirose
Q4 - Hallam bt Bellingham, Xie bt Mia
    Shaky:
Cheng Shao-Chieh - not certain how good Schenk is although she beat Zhou
    Wang Chen - quite 50-50 I think
Xie Xingfang - you can never tell if it's Mia

MD (R16) - incredibly still according to seedings, could be end for Malaysians today
    Q1 - Eriksen/Lundgaard bt Laybourn/Steffensen, Chew/Choong bt Gunawan/Bach
    Q2 - Luluk/Alven bt Tan/Ong, Jung/Lee bt Logosz/Mateusiak
    Q3 - Boe/Mogensen bt Flandi/Eng, Fu/Cai bt Chan/Koo
    Q4 - Paaske/Rasmussen bt Liu/Njoto, Candra/Sigit bt Fairuz/Lin
    Shaky:
Chew/Choong - Americans at home, Chew/Choong scratch pair
Boe/Mogensen - you never can tell with Indon opponents

WD (QF) - according to seedings so far, will it continue?
    Q1 - Yang/Zhang bt Emms/Kellogg
    Q2 - Lee/Lee bt Chin/Wong - but Lee/Lee are not always steady and Chin/Wong can capitalise
    Q3 - Zhang/Zhang bt Wei/Zhao - Zhang/Zhang were impressive in Singapore but this is close to 50/50
    Q4 - Gao/Huang bt Saralee/Sathinee

    XD (R16)
    Q1 - Shirley/Runesten bt Songpol/Kulchala, Lee/Lee bt Clark/Kellogg
    Q2 - Chen/Zhao bt Asuncion/Asuncion, Xie/Zhang bt Eriksen/Schjoldager
    Q3 - Blair/Munt bt Bergstrom/Persson, Widianto/Natsir bt Laybourn/Juhl
    Q4 - Sudket/Saralee bt Saputra/Li, Zhang/Gao bt Koo/Wong
    Shaky:
Xie/Zhang - Danes are seeded higher and more experienced
    Widianto/Natsir - Danes a big threat

I would say for the MD, Luluk and Alven are shaky..If they can beat the Malaysians, then they can at least go to the Semis..Flandy/Eng Hian should beat the Danes pair(based on experience), as long as they keep the shuttle low, DO NOT LIFT, like what Alven/Luluk experienced against Boe/Mogensen in the S'pore Open..But no matter what happen, each quarter will have at least an Indonesian player playing..

Agree about the XD, the Indo pair "should be" able to beat the Danes. But it all depends on Nova..I won't be surprise to see Koo/Wong give the Chinese pair a run for their money..The Thai XD pair vs. the S'pore XD pair should be a treat to watch..

Right now, with the current condition as is, it's really hard to tell what and how the outcome will be...

    awesome!
im writing this almost blindly, since the light is out, so i cant see the keyboard real well:mad:
lets see, matches i wanna see:
-xie vs mia --- go mia! i really want to see her, and the only way i can is if she plays tomorrow, lol, besides, i think it would be awesome if even when china is dominating ws and wd, the winner of ws isnt a china girl, but still i think xie has the edge, but perhaps mia can pull another 2004 olympic-like run? :D
-peter gade vs sony --- hmm, didnt gadelost to sony in the last wc?
-taufik vs bonsak --- go taufik! reminds me of 2004 og sf, should be good (yet i will NOT be able to watch it)
-zhang/gao vs saralee/sudket --- ooooow, my money is on theunderdogs!

i will see how close i can get to the courts. probably not too close. i was going to borrow a nice fast lens from a friend, turned out he already lend it to his co-worker, who is also going down to Anaheim for the WC !

YES, it's possible, eventhough he's not as talented stroke-wise as Taufik..As long as Sony stays consistent and focus, he can advance...But that's the thing, more often times than not, his mind just goes "blank" during the match..
