How is that working? I know that your football teams are representing England, Wales etc. But your field & track (swimming etc) are representing (Great) Britain (and N.I). What about the badminton team? Know I've seen different flags in the statisics when players from your side of the canal have been playing. Does this differs between "regular" competitions and championships (Olympic, WC and EC)?

Know it is only you who're alllowed to do this in certain cases. Otherwise I'd think i.e Baskien and Catalunya would be interested in fielding their own teams in football.

Wow, i never thought the 'lesser known' countries and players would do so well against the best. I still cant beleive Ponsak (sp?) came so close in beating Taufik... Are Koo/Chan even seeded?

yeah. brilliant idea. i think one of the Chinese press managed to get a camera out there. it is not manned. the camera is hung from the rafters and i think it maybe remote controlled. at least i didn't spot anybody standing up there holding a camera...

Ok....my thoughts on my 1st day there and my only day there :( It was great to see the crowd really get into it...especially for the MD between Cai/Fu against KKK/CCM.

Anyways...got there at 3:30pm, watched some great matches, even got a bunch of autographs, including Sigit, Li Yong Bo, Boonsak, Zheng Bo, and Taufik!

MS match of the day IMHO: Taufik vs Boonsak, was anyone sitting in section 224, and heard the lady screaming something and yelling Taufik's name every time he hit the bird?? It was hilarious...but got annoying after a while. Boonsak really got under Taufik's skin, even caused Taufik to throw his racquet and get a yellow card! I must say, for the 1st time watching him....he is everything that everyone claims....wicked backhand, wicked drops, and wicked everything!!

Close 2nd was Lin Dan vs S. Soto....Dunno, but Lin Dan looked unmotivated and just gave away the 2nd set.

MD match of the day: Toss Up between Tony/Howard vs. Malaysian Pair...only because of the intensity and the fire played with by the US team, and definitely Fu/Cai vs KKK/CCM....I am so impressed with KKK and CCM, spreading all out for every bird and lightning fast, Chinese pair looked lost after the 1st set, and 2 steps too slow!

Watched Bad for 6 1/2 straight hours.....Was a once in a lifetime experience....wish i wasnt working this weekend, otherwise i would be there for the semis and finals! Everyone else....have fun!!

My prediction for MS....Lee Chong Wei (This guy is unbelievable and will only get better) MD....Candra/Sigit (As long as they dont start slow).

The 2001 WC in Seville had an overhead camera, but I don't think we got close-ups like this.

I expect it is a decision for each sports governing body, or the IOC for the Olympics, as to what they recognise as a country.

For badminton, I think we are only ever GB in the Olympics.
And I think we are GB for every event in the Olympics

It's sure an amazing win for Koo and Chan.Had watched them playing in the Kedah Open recently and Chan really played below par.Well, most probably BAM did the correct thing in hiring Rexy.He must have done wonders to the psyche of Koo and Chan. Can't agree more with you about the website.

aiya.. i didn't get to see the match between Chong Ming/KKK and Cai/Fu.. After seeing the line-up i thought the Malaysian men doubles are dead meat for sure.. But I was surprised when I read todays newspapers.. Must be Rexy.. hez one tough coach.. Li Yongbo's goal for a men doubles medal have gone up in smoke.. Cai/Fu were their last hope :crying: And Chong Wei's playing great today.. defeated Chunlai in straight sets.. Who knows.. maybe he might be a runner-up?:D Yawn.. Stayed up for 4 hours
