2007 China Open Super Series Pictures

The route to final favored BCL as well compared to LCW. The next head to head meeting between this 2 titans are very crucial because everyone will start to conclude after that.

Anyway is this the same umpire that judge the MS final yesterday?
Look at the face of the Korean :D. He was like WTF !?!?

No. I think he was the umpire for Xie/Zhang-Sudket/Saralee match.

i was wondering what happened during the LCW vs BCL match when a european guy in red went up to the umpire and said something after the bad line calls. who was the european guy? was he in charge of line judges or something? or was he simply a representative of something? the umpire seems to listen to him and then he sorts of walk away quite not satisfied. anybody knows what that was about?

Li Yongbo on China's chances at the Beijing Olympics:
"Our big target is the upcoming Olympic Games.
We now have 192 trainees in our badminton camp.
That's 30 players, 12 umpires and 150 line-judges."
So the 12 umpires and 150 line-judges will also be trained indirectly by LYB?

that's the tournament referee Ben Lageweg. he is the top person in charge of the whole tournament.

kwun, did u hear him comment on those "incidents"? If yes, what did he say? what was his first reaction? Did u take any actions to IBF? :D

does every tournament have different tournament referee? do they rotate? how do they choose who will be the tournament's referee? i think it is a good idea to have a tournament referee. hopefully it will curb the bad line calls a bit if not entirely. :)

Badminton Courses

So the 12 umpires and 150 line-judges will also be trained indirectly by LYB?
They are all already very well trained :p

The current camp has refresher courses on:
1. how to even more quickly signal 'Out' for 'In'
2. how to even more quickly signal 'In for 'Out'
3. how to keep an absolutely straight face
4. how to suppress that smile when the game resumes
5. how to suppress that elation when Team China wins
6. how to look harassed if the media is looking your way
7. how to love Lin Yongbo and all the good he is doing

By the way, this course is called 'Higher Diploma In Competition Strategy' ;)

Some of them might get to practice their skills at the Hong Kong Open 2007.

BCL: "Thanks brother for losing today!"
LWC: "No problem, I already have 3! Besides, my rival's gf was beaten by mine today, I'm so happy!"

BCL: nevermind i got more prize money than u did........
LCW: and i thought u need to share the money with someone.............
BCL: ooooppsss, i totally 4got about that, nvm, ill just buat bodoh (pretend i don't know anything about it)
LCW: Wow, you are really a champ.................

:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

have they custom made 162 more medals for those umpires/judges at '08 OG then??? :D:D:D:D:D they are sacrificing more than the players i think.

He's still a "shy" kid :)

Hiyaa, they won lah. This time at least Setiawan smile happily.
Already so many years playing still shy kah? WC 2007 also same, super serious look, like they lost the match.

Kido is the only player whose expression who dont look happy when he wins like saying - "Yes, we win, we doing our duty to Indonesia, no play play for me. Hrrummp"
