2008 Dutch Open Day 1 (Oct 15)

dont worry Yong Hui...its just prelim round let alone just R1....not many people interest yet....it'll more noisy if it reach QF...hopefully....btw 21-1 score is just insane and demoralizing.....

Not surprisingly, Dieter Domke beat Peter Mikkelsen again after European Championships earlier this year. 3 setters in both occasions.

That makes it the 1st upset of the day (minor ones).
Dieter Domke beat Peter Mikkelsen [15] 20-22 21-11 21-10

why is that M Ruter def C Lind Thomsen considered as upset?? that danish plyr not a seeded one......
If WR#141 beating WR#91 is not considered as an upset, I don't know what else is?

Marcel REUTER (GER) WR#141
Christian LIND THOMSEN (DEN) WR#91

Do some research before asking something stupid...

:) despite worldranking i agree with etudiant and wouldn´t call the results of reuter and domke upsets.

As highlighted before(this is the 3rd or 4th time I myself is typing this in past 2 months), the upset lists are according to World Ranking. Lower rank beat higher rank, unseeded beat seeded. ;)

Whether it's considered upset according to player's ability & current form, each person will have a different view, sometimes debatable between fans of the respective players/pairs. It can go on & on endlessly, I'm sure you've read some of them.

That was why in Japan, China Masters, Macau, China's new pairs/new partnership appeared so many times in upset list. They're good but in BWF ranking they're not even listed, how to consider.;);)
