you know, it's not prize money problem. Money can buy many things, but there are still something in our life that money cannot buy. ;)

Change from Badminton to Tennis (perhaps)?

    .
    Well said suetyan. :):):)
If money is the problem, players would have changed from Badminton to Tennis (perhaps?).

A surprise to find that LD is now ranked World No.4

A surprise to find (from the above link) that LD is now ranked World No.4 (as at Monday 23-Nov-2009).

I thought LD is currently ranked at No.2, just one below LCW

yup, Cai/Fu will not be going. LYB sends Xu/Guo is in case they are qualified. :) LYB wants to show some support to the BWF. If not, you know how other Bcers and BWF will say about CBA and the China team. ;) So, at least must send some players to there.

Without LD, any one of you think that LCW can pull it off and win again?
As for MD, I hope JJS/LYD and KKK/TBH can meet again in the semi-finals or
    final :)

    .
This is good news indeed. :):):)

China is our strongest Badminton nation. Last year, 2008, when China decided not to participate in it, many BCers thought that this SS Masters Finals could be abandoned forever.

If the prize money become 5 million, its become more important that ONLY the best qualified to top 8 in each category. So we can see some amazing badminton.

With the 2 players pre country rules, we bound to get few consistent players but not as good as others in the mix and they will be white washed by top players like when LD play Jan Jorgensen.

But at least the depth in Men Doubles , we will see all top matches and not some one side matches like probably in MS, WS, and WD. (If lots of players decided not to play here)

Suprisingly, XD are very competitive now.

Hmm..yes, money can't buy everything in our life..

..the idea is how to spur more interest to this invitation tournament so the top 8 players/pairs (not replacement players/pairs) will attend, if that is the goal of BWF. But looks like they haven't done so. Why is that? Other than being injured, why the lack of commitment from the top 8 players/pairs to participate?
If it's schedule, they could do something with the schedule but where would they fit this event? Should they make it once every 2 yrs or 3 yrs?....or should they increase the prize money?..

Most Badminton players are subjects of their National Associations

    .
Currently, it is not how Badminton players can be spurred by BWF. Most players (other than independent players) are still under the instructions from their National Associations.

This is one of the main differences between Badminton players compared to players of other sports.

    ^^Same question..^^

.."how to spur more interest to this invitation tournament so the national bodies/associations will allow their players/pairs (not replacement players/pairs) to attend??"..

Is the Badminton Super Series Masters Finals bringing recognition to players?

    .
This is the question, isn't it?

Is the Badminton Super Series Masters Finals bringing recognition to individual players or to their National Associations?

Fans of Tennis players would understand what I am trying to say (I hope). :p:p:p
