. Today, Saturday 15-Oct-2011, we are at the Semi-Finals. For the Schedule of Matches, here is the link; http://www.tournamentsoftware.com/s...389B26-7D2A-4EFC-831F-5D94C1BB1911&d=20111015 For the Time in the Netherlands; http://www.worldtimeserver.com/current_time_in_NL.aspx For Live Streaming; http://www.badmintoneurope.tv/ Who could make it to the Finals? * WS: I think the 2 top seeds could make it. Porntip Buranaprasertsuk [1] (THA) Yao Jie [2] (NED) * MS: The 2 Chinese Taipei players have good chances; Hsueh Hsuan Yi [7] Chou Tien Chen * WD: The 2 top pairs are still in contention; Duanganong Aroonkesorn/Kunchala Voravichitchaikul [1] (THA) Shinta Mulia Sari/Yao Lei [2] (SIN) * MD: I am going for; Ingo Kindervater/Johannes Schoettler [1] (GER) Adam Cwalina/Michal Logosz [3] (POL) *XD: The 2 Thai pairs have good chances; Sudket Prapakamol/Saralee Thoungthongkam [1] Songphon Anugritayawon/Kunchala Voravichitchaikul [2] .
The Indian contingent had 12 players in the round of 16; they have only 1 left in the Semi-finals. The last girl standing is Sindhu. She is unseeded, current BWF ranking being 76. She will be up against top seed Porntip of Thailand, who is a solid, reliable and consistent player. But Sindhu, that girl has no respect for seeds! She scatters them all around! Still, it may just be too difficult this time, but I hope she will make a match out of it! Second seed Yao Jie (and crowd favourite?) should get through without much of a fuss, I think. And the crowd will also be rooting for Eric Pang, who upset top seed Ajay Jayaram in 3 thrilling games in the quarter-finals. The Danish MD pair of Kolding/Skovgaard (BWF ranking 119) have been killing off higher-ranked opposition to gt into the semis; can they do it again? Its possible! That would put an end to the lone Polish representation at this stage: the MD pair (seeded 3) of Cwalina/Logosz. So much to choose from....
The defeat of Ajay Jayaram(2) to Eric Pang(5) 11-21, 24-22, 22-24 in the QF was unexpected. If Ajay had won the 1st game, I think he would have won the match.

Big camera crew present, meaning these matches will most likely be available on DVD at tv broadcast standard either at the extortionist price of €8 per match or the extortionist price of €22 per 5(?). I guess they can't make two sets of 5 with the court scheduling so more likely to be sold per single match like in the previous year.

I can't believe Auntie Yao Jie is still flying the flag for NED. Kinda like LCW, only older, hehe Mind you, it was only Karina Jorgensen whom she beat. She'll be in tough against either Porntip or Sindhu in the final, players with real potential.
