2011 India Open SS: Day 5 (Semi-Finals) Saturday 30-April

You know the tournament is really GP standard at best when at the SF stage...

MS: HK have representatives left in the competition.:)(other 3 left have experience at this stage)
WS: There is no Chinese representatives at all, and only one that is in the top 10 currently.
MD: No Korean or Chinese representation at all, only Koo/Tan.
WD: Again no Chinese WD, even though no one really watches WD, it's still shows that there is a lack in reknowned WD pairs in the tournament. Of course with exception of Japan.
XD: No Chinese, no Koreans, no Danish, no Anglo-Scottish no German = not really SS. Honestly apart from Natsir, I haven't heard of the other 7 players really.:)

Of course the real people that benefit from this tournament, are the players that have done very well this week, they have been able to pick up a lot of OG Q Points, due to a weak field, so they have given themselves a good chance of qualifying. Then again, team china will still probably have their full quota.

IMHO,lack Chinese players that doesn't mean the India SS is a GP standard. SS is still and SS.

I do totally agree that team china will still probably have their full quota and I'm sure team China will be dominate in nearly every sports and even gonna grab most of the medals in the coming OG too.

ow...u really look down to other country, even for INA, u dont count them in top badminton power house
if every tournament should left only chinese korean players in semifinal, what for a tournament there?
u said WD lack reknowned pairs..u should read more about badminton news, not only read LD,LCW,PG,TH news
it is a shock for me that u only recognize Natsir, u forget her partner, double is a pair game, not one man game..
the fact is CHN WS is still the best today, but if they don't show up in a tournament, doesn't mean the tournament level is going down

Pretty sure INA will take the XD title. Sure CPS/GLY has done well (they must love playing at the Siri Fort Stadium, won the Asian title there last year).

But against a country that has mastered the XD curriculum, I would say their chances aren't too bright. Maybe just bigger than a spark.

Will miss the semis and finals action on TV, need to do another overseas trip in 3 hours.

INA has secured 3 spots in XD semifinal, the biggest chance for INA shuttlers to grab first SS title in this year here, good luck :)

All INA fans would be very satisfied If it's All INA Final in XD sector, especially (for me) when it would be the clash between RiDeb and FraPi. Somehow I'm thinking that RiDeb VS FraPi will be more interesting to watch rather than ToLyin VS FraPi.

Hehe.. if Fran/Pi vs Towi/Butet in final.. I thought that Towi/Butet will win again.. so far, their H2H is 2-0 for Towi/Butet. But, i dont think Rijal/Debby will beat Towi/Butet this time

I know ToLyn has the edge to beat RiDeb. But I would like to see RiDeb creating an upset.

this tournament is a qualifying for olympic? wow, INA pairs in XD and MD got "easy" points then, IMO :)

academically you may be always right, but in reality....

maybe later BCers could compare the standard of WS finals in BAC last week and tomorrow's India SS...
