    The 2011 Macau Open GP Gold matches

    For our interested BCers, let's take a look at the matches of the 2011 Macau Open GP Gold, from Qualification Rounds to other rounds (but before the Quarter-Finals) in this thread.

    This is because for a GP Gold event, most of our BCers only get interested from the Quarter-Finals onward. :):):)

    On Tuesday 29-November, we have the Qualification Rounds. Below are the links for the 5 categories;

    * WS: http://www.tournamentsoftware.com/sport/draw.aspx?id=79DD09AD-9356-4F40-BEC8-AC951A265EF1&draw=3
    * MS: http://www.tournamentsoftware.com/sport/draw.aspx?id=79DD09AD-9356-4F40-BEC8-AC951A265EF1&draw=1
    * WD: http://www.tournamentsoftware.com/sport/draw.aspx?id=79DD09AD-9356-4F40-BEC8-AC951A265EF1&draw=7
    * MD: http://www.tournamentsoftware.com/sport/draw.aspx?id=79DD09AD-9356-4F40-BEC8-AC951A265EF1&draw=5
    * XD: http://www.tournamentsoftware.com/sport/draw.aspx?id=79DD09AD-9356-4F40-BEC8-AC951A265EF1&draw=9

    For Schedule of Matches;

    For Time in Macau;

    For Live Streaming, perhaps BCers from different countries can post the links that are working for their regions. Different countries sometimes cannot use the same links.

    For our BC PAW Game, Sandy could be posting it later. I shall post it here in this thread when it is ready.

    I will be in Macau tomorrow and on Wednesday for work but unfortunately, don't really have the time to go and watch the matches.

    For the MD event at this tournament, there are only 2 CHN pairs participating, namely;

    * Chai Biao/Guo Zhendong [3]
    * Liu Xiaolong/Qiu Zihan

    Just found Sandy's post;

    Sandy's post reminded me that the MS Round 1 starts at 5:00pm on Tuesday (which I mistaken that all main draws start on Wednesday).

    Perhaps you could return in the weekend. It's a special appearance by the WR#1 and shouldn't be missed. Haha.

    Just found out that Lin Dan has withdrawn. :eek::eek::eek:

    Don't know if people who have bought tickets to watch Lin Dan play (on Day 1) will complain.

    The withdrawal is more or less expected, but the CHN team should really work out their schedule better. The organizers and fans have put in a lot. They should be respected.

    The Macau GPG was a back up plan for LD in case something went awry in the HK Open and CHN Open. but since everything went according to plan, LD needs the rest more than anything else.

    I would suggest the same for LCW. Plus it's not a Yonex sponsored event.

    Agree.Well, those organizers should follow BC and they won t be surprised by LD s no show. Macao Open is more like a working holiday for LCW. Just like the way he regards Singapore Open, although there s really little to shop for here, with the S$ so strong.

    Agree with your take on this.

    This is correct decision as far as gold medal strategy goes. However, it is a terrible decision as far as promoting badminton goes.

    Hope the CHN team will eventually come to their senses and contribute positively to the cause of promoting badminton.

    Lin Dan withdrew again

    .
    Agree. We understand some CHN players are thinking of themselves. Just hope that they will also think of the organisers and the fans who have bought tickets.

    As for some BCers who have bought tickets to watch Lin Dan play (some even flying in from outside Macau), this is unacceptable. :(:(:(

    And some BCers are paying good money for taxi/cab to take them to the venue.

    Just imagine if LCW withdrew.

    So far, the Qualification matches are pretty much one-sided, except for this one;

    Lydia Li Ya Cheah (MAS) defeated Hung Shih Han (TPE) 21-16, 17-21, 21-16 in 44 mins.
