As for who gets to play in the semifinals, I'm not quite sure as to how the top two from each group are determined. For example, in WS Group A, say WYH beats Schenk and Tine beats Sung on Friday; WYH, Tine and Sung would each have won 2 encounters apiece, so who then are the top two from Group A who will play in the SF on Saturday? Sorry for asking such nonsensical questions - I'm totally unfamiliar with the round-robin format being used in the SSF.
. When 2 or more pairs won the same number of matches, then the higher/more number of games won will be taken into consideration. .
Thanks for the clarification, chris! By "higher/more number of games won", you're referring to rubber games, right? So, for example, since SJH beat WYH in three games, she has an advantage in qualifying for the SF even if she loses to Tine on Friday? The same applies to Saina in Group B if this is the case.
. OK, click on this link and look at Group A Results:- http://www.tournamentsoftware.com/sport/draw.aspx?id=40E237A5-B6A6-4BD4-88EB-30E421756AE7&draw=4 WYH and TB are level in their matches, but WYH is placed higher because of her 3-2 score in games (while TB has only a 2-2 score in games). .
Saina appears to playing with a racquet different from her usual ARC7. Does anyone know which this one is?
