And when WX went on the offensive, she was smashing from too far back (from her back tram-lines). WX was also smashing too hard from the back, trying to finish off the rally. SN did not have problems blocking those smashes; And when SN blocked those smashes to WX's fore-court, WX was under pressure (time-wise) to get to those block returns.

If I were ZN, I would tell WX not to smash too hard from her back tram-lines. From the back tram-lines, smashes are hoped to create bad returns, not hoped to be as winners.

WX won more points from her deceptive strokes than from her smashes, examples; cross-court sliced-shots, net hold-and-flick strokes, good net-play, etc......

In the 'expected' return match, let's hope WX would play with more patience; Smash harder from mid-court, smash softer from the back tram-lines.

Thanks for your objective analysis from a coach's point of view,subjective elements aside. I've learnt and benefited from you.
 
The tournament has presented a higher chance for non-CHN WS players to maximize their chances as there are only two CHN representatives, as it is both WYH and WX have suffered unexpected defeats, if not now then when for a non-CHN WS to win a major title. But tomorrow is another day and there is still either a WX or WYH assured of a place in the final,and for the non-CHN would-be finalist,she's already half-way there,which wouldn't have been the case had WX won today.

In other words, WX mentally collapsed when Saina did not play as predicted.

WX and WYH can consider themselves lucky. TPE s TTY and THA s Rat are not here and these two youngsters are fearless CHN beaters. When non-CHN WS plays CHN WS while fresh, you see the truth, walkovers are important in helping CHN win!

Non-CHN players are doing OK. :):):)

Out of the 20 players/pairs remaining in the tournaments, we find 11 are non-CHN.

But I still believe that China can win 4 titles on Sunday, namely;

* WS: Wang Xin
* MS: Lin Dan
* WD: Wang Xiaoli/Yu Yang
* XD: Zhang Nan/Zhao Yunlei
