Seeing her cry like that was really difficult, hate seeing athletes injured.

Wish I could make the last 24hrs just disappear :(

    so much drama today.

this a lady who wants to and will fight even if she leg falls apart. but now she can no longer and is in great tear as a result.

Sho Sasaki beat Kevin Cordon 23-21 and 21-10, it's over but Kevin played a wonderful 1st game.

Wow! This is big... I was away just an hour and this happens... I was rooting for Sayaka to win... Too bad! I really feel sorry for her.... Since she is young she can always come back next time but still she must have put in a lot of effort looking at the way she crying so inconsolably... Hats off for her courage and spirit to try and continue playing with that injury.... And from what I read here in this thread, Tine deserves to be lauded for showing compassion and sportsmanship by hugging Sayaka and trying to console her..... After what all happened the Spirit of the Olympics prevails!!!!

Congratulations to Alex Bruce and Michelle Li (hey, Bruce Li :p). Doesn't matter how they got there, that is North America's best chance of a medal. Go Canada.

You are right. It's always the big bosses who get away scot-free. All that remains now is to see whether there are significant changes of formats in future. It's easy charging players with the 'detrimental conduct' clause when two different countries are battling, but not so easy when it's the same country. You never know because it's a thin line. Besides, the players can put on a really good emmy award show and yet the winner is still predetermined.

Is there any link to this match where the incident occurs? Thanks :)

I also want to say Sato's efforts to play on despite the magnitude of her injury is a tremendous show of the Olympic spirit.

The "Gang of 8" can learn something about the Olymoic spirit from S Sato. So sad for her. Dato must have shuddered when he saw this happening...
