2012 Australian Under 13 Interstate Series . Later, I shall hope to read our BCers posting on what's happening at the Quarter-Finals today. Today is also our 2012 Australian Under 13 Interstate Series. And I shall be going there. You are a young fella compared to me, I am soon 56 and 3 years from full retirement, but can retire now if I want to...as for running, my speed is 4.2 kph, slow and easy win the race. I run because I love this game and to really enjoy playing it (not to beat anyone but to have a great game with my younger friends) needs the cardio. Most malaysians who learnt to play this game growing up in MAS generally has okay-to-better technique compared to my fellow canadians. It is the stamina that we lack that once you quit playing for years like me would be murder to pick up the pace. I stopped playing since 1978 when I came to school in Canada, and after that my career took control of my life. I resume playing in 2004 and I swear on a bible that the first time I played in 2004, after the first 7 points, I almost fainted, pain in my chest and blanking out. That was my fitness then and a awake call. Still, fitness/stamina first, everything else next. Without stamina, there is no game.
There are important factors like agility, muscle-strenght, and of course body stress onknees/joints, back etc. for Badminton. that makes age a factor.. Probably much more than the stamina part imop. Bao didn't quit because his stamina was bad... for example..
i am still standing by my point. when players are of similar skill and experience, then the one with better stamina has the upper edge. eg. Gade vs LD, Gade vs. LCW. however, when players are of very different skill set, then the skill wins out and the lower skilled player can only try to amend with more running. eg. when Han plays against me, i get my butt kicked and just managed to stay alive with much more running!
The 5:00pm start is a real killer here = 1:00am. Might be able to catch one or two matches before the eyelids take over. The CJ v JOJ rematch stands out. It's too hard to call, definitely a 50/50 match. In WD, 2 young pairs Hoo/Woon (MAS) and BYX/ZQX do battle with the MAS girls holding a 2-0 H2H edge. Both pairs have improved by leaps and bounds since their only meeting last year. Juliane Schenk v WSX might prove to be the longest match of the day. WSX can't finish rallies quickly and Schenk is a notorious chaser. LYD/HJE resume hostilities with XC/MJ after their KO PSS defeat. A fresh LYD, free of MD duties this week, could be the big difference. The MD section looks drab without the big names.
You are a modest friend, very humble and friendly, according to many. Don't over praise me as I may mistaken about my actual ability and go back to Malaysia and try out the Thomas Cup squad selection ... beating Chong Wei is out of the question, may be 3rd single Overall, I have a lot fun playing this game and see how many good years I still can play, o-mi-to-fu!
dun worry, i bet LCW might lose this QF or make a walkover for Taufik inorder for Taufik to get more points for OG... hehehe
i doubt those who hold ticket will think like u the crowd on 1st round is as many as last year quater final and yesterday, the crowd is sooooooooooo pack at premium, just like the semi final last year but of course i hope people dont come after lin dan lost, more air to breath hehe
Yes, I'm not holding the ticket, I'm just holding my remote control. So, I hope you understand my perspective.
You can always switch it off, and do something more interesting.... like go and play some baddy yourself!
Skills, stamina debate: In pro baddy, I think you require it all, in good measures. Skills, stamina, mental strength ( ) fitness (not the same as stamina) agility (not the same as fitness) and alertness (not the same as agility.) Until very recently, the best example I could ever have given you would be Peter Gade. Damn! I'm gona miss that guy! :crying:
looking forward to the match between sho sasaki - chen long and jorgansen - chen jin kenichi tago have a great chance to advance to semi final
