if woon/vivian is play 2nd tie i believe we can win 2 point from china(which mas tc team cant do against china) anyway,it is a wise choice not to field woon. congrats to goh/lim
Uber Cup : CHN-MAS, 3-1 as MAS second pair seals the match, Goh Liu Ying/Lim Yin Loo v Bao Yixin/Zhong Qianxin, 21-16 / 21-15.
CHN has nothing to lose but they would lose a lot of confidence to not take it seriously. CHN wants to maintain the aura of invincibility so their MS would avoid certain opponents in creative ways in individual tournaments. However, this is TC and CL is supposed to be superior to NTM, based on the last six months performance. Just beating CL again will give NTM a lot of confidence if they meet again. NTM will know he has the chance against CL because he is not in CL s syllabus so a mental block looms if CL loses his way. That s a lot of pressure for CL to lead the CHN TC team. How come no one comes out and proclaim this proves CL is mentally weak? ( whenever that happened to LCW in the past, MAS fans would be quick to say ' mentally weak' .) Instead, with CHN MS, the fans would often say ' not being serious' . Oh, maybe they are taking the cue from the cloudy thinking NCC about TC being not important. Why would CHN bother to host TC?
Agreed .. as i already said...clearly shows Chen Long and Chen Jin are not World Champion or Olympic Gold medallist materials. If Lin Dan lost to anyone apart from LCW in the OG, Lee Chong Wei wins the Gold officially, I can bet my whole savings on that with the expected return by 10 fold. Lin Dan fan here
The Sri lankan guy is quite good, I have seen him play before, and I was very impressed with his play. Quite aggressive, and a decent defence to go with it. If Niluka had the funding (which he has very little) then he has the ability to go right up the rankings, easily a top 40 player.
this might be a good read for you, it's slightly dated, but sure shows the struggles the guy faces...
Isn't BWF still running those academies? Sounds like he has enough potential to train at one of them. That way BWF picks up the tab (or at least some of it). Happy to see another nation produce a decent player.
Sorry forgot to provide the link in post #89 here it is... http://www.dailynews.lk/2010/01/08/spo23.asp Not sure if they still have those academies, quite possibly though...
Yeah, a good read. He sounds dedicated enough and has the right attitude to succeed. He should give KLRC a buzz; they sound like a good fit.
2nd day is under way. LCW edges past WWK 21-18 in G1 Rat rolling over Jayasinghe (SRI) 21-9, 13-3 Firda up 21-9, 14-8 of Sorokina (KAZ)
LCW struggles out of the gate in G2, down 0-6 but has closed the gap to 7-9 As expected, both Rat and Firda close their matches with ease.
KKK/TBH score an easy win 2-0 now the real test begin, where we need one precious point from remaining 3 games...who can secure it???
that's right, hope it not repeat the same fate when during Thomas Cup Finals group match against Japan when JPN trailed from 0-2 to won it 3-2, making MAS team faced demise...
