I found it a bit funny that the umpire yesterday told one of the Thailand teams to stop yelling (grunting) when they were smashing/defending during doubles yesterday! Doing it too much or it was more too loud!
Nitchaon Jindapon is through to the finals, but only just made it past Carolina Marin, 21-18 in the decider.
Too bad she didn't make it, Japan has so many young talent and looks like Yuka is one of them. Top-seed Nichaon Jindapon battled hardly to secure final ticket, def. Euro promising youngster Carolina Marin, 15-21 / 21-10 / 21-18.
Now to see if Maneepong/Nipitphon justify their seeding, and keep their appointment with Issara/Vilailak tomorrow. Or will Yilv/Ningyi spoil the party? Does this new Chinese MD pair looks promising? Has anyone seen them play?
Yilv and Ningyi were both Semi Finalists at WJC in MD last year (but they didn't partner each other). Yilv was also a semi finalist in XD as well at WJC. They are pretty decent but I think they may still have quite a ways to go to the top. I think they might be able to put some pressure on the Thai pair but I believe the Thai pair should have it in the bag.
Well, game 2 and Ramdan settles in, and canters away 21-13 Was Eric Pang actually keeping his powder dry for Game 3? Stay tuned in to this channel for the answer. (alternately, look up TS... )
Its really a shame there's no live stream source even at this stage of the tournament... not that the technology requires a NASA-like setup any more...
There appear to be a few promising young MD players emerging from China in the GP/GPG tournaments. I suppose CBA management might play a little musical chairs with them for a while before allowing them to settle in with specific partners for the long haul.
Ramdan is losing steam and has fallen too far behind Eric in the decider, 8-14. Eric is far too experienced a campaigner to let it go now...
Eventually Eric Pang does a clinical wrap-up in Game 3, 21-13 to deny Ramdan a spot in the finals, and lives up to his seeding.

Words from my Canadian friends say a fight broke out between the two old partners. Bodin clobbed Maneepong and Maneepong retaliated by hitting him with a racket.
anyone with updated info on what happened with Bodin Issara? I'd hate to imagine them taking the same flight home, all the way from Canada to thailand...
