Porntip on the verge of winning
A well-deserved victory for Porntip who played better.
Porntip is the deserving winner.
Congrats to PB for her victory against the Olympic Champion. 21-15, 21-19.
Porntip stuns defending and Olympic Champion, 21-15 / 21-19. She will meet another Chinese opponent tomorrow.
Excellent work done by Portnip winning the match in straight games.. No wonder Saina lost to her in 3 games.. Though Saina had 6-0 H2H against Portnip, yesterday Portnip displayed a great show by her complete attacking style of play in the rubber game which went in favour of her. Today , she did it in straight games against Olympic champion.. Good
Imagine how many smash outright winners from the baseline by Porntip, and those tight net shots. No wonder LXR was stunned.
I won't be surprised if CHN allow WYH to play against PB tomorrow.
Next match : TS vs WZM.
Go Tommy, your time is long overdue.
Porntip has outperformed Intanon lately. Great to have Porntip in the SSF, now that Intanon is out.
Whether it is WYH or Han Li , Porntip should prevail tomorrow.
Did WZM just had a hair cut? He looked nice and clean.
I think so.
The Chinese ladies have obviously been taught to prolong the rallies and wait for opponents to make mistakes or hit the shuttles out. Attack only when necessary...which is probably why they clear all the time. That strategy won't work with players like Porntip, who attacks at every given opportunity and is always moving forward to bring the shuttle down if she can.
Watch as Porntip takes the title with this superior style of play.
To be frank, in the form LXR is in from the China Open, I'm not surprised someone will beat her here - and it's Porntip who did it; it could have been Busanan yesterday.
IMO, Porntip is currently playing like what LXR used to do.
Viva Thailand. Porntip made Thai people so happy, in light of May's defeat yesterday. Now the world has 2 Thai WS to take note of.
Not long, it will be 3 if you count Busanan and 4 if you count Jindapon.
You can tell, lately, LXR isn't as sharp and forceful as before; she is also slower and only able to up the tempo occasionally.
I notice that WZM is constructing the rally a bit more before launching the attack - a good sign.
