What a miss for Eric to lose 22-20, such a shame, very unlucky for him. I guess he hasn't been playing SS tourneys enough to be used to the instant-review system, Hawk-Eye.
and game one is gone, he should have challenged the call when he was 19-18 up. .it was so close and he didnn't madde use of the challenge.
Unlucky for Eric, horrible line call against him. Tommy should have lost the first set, he does not have the tools to be a true threat to LCW all he has is stamina but no attack and decent defense.
Sung JH has been in such fine form that I was thinking she'd probably give LXR a run for her money tomorrow. Her unexpected loss to Mitani really caught me by surprise. The moral of the story is never to underestimate your opponent or take anything for granted, you will never know when your opponent may out of the blue raise her game and play above herself once the burden of expectation is gone.
In a sense I felt like saying Eric cheated himself of G1. Didn't he know there's such a thing as Hawk-Eye? Maybe he really forgot about it, how unfortunate.
Eric is basically drained but you can see his shots are more technically superior to tommy even though tommy has much higher stamina, but he is made to run around so hard. WHile Eric is like walking around.
i really hope that mitani can come feeling fresh tomorrow for her semifinal match, 1 hour on court yesterday and another 1 hour plus match today. .hopefully she will fight for it as she did today as well as yesterday.
Chen Long lacks Lin Dan's uncanny ability to read, anticipate and control the rallies, even dictating it most of the time against most opponents.
So far,Eric is showing himself to be the more skillful player of the two. Not sure if he can win it though as he's making more errors.
Son WH will want to keep the shuttle low and flat as far as possible, fully aware of Chen Long's smashing ability.
Impressive tournament and form from Eric Pang. Sadly, he doesn't used his chances against Tommy - who played, for sure, a good match! Respect for both players.
