The CHN has the presence of mind to do a flick serve that flat-footed the Danish receiver for final victory. A gamble that paid off, if not careful may be faulted by the service judge as sometimes happened.

I don't think a top-notch player should have a coach @ her beck & call all the time. Juliane Schenk, Nguyen Tien Minh & Peter Gade used to play without coaches and they still won. They were 'thinking' players. Hopefully, the Chinese players could adapt. LYB once said that Zhang Ning could play without a coach by her side unlike some who could not.

What a WD game. Credits to the chinese for holding their composure .. especially TQ who normally gets shaken at crucial points. Danes played great as well but need to control emotions

My wish for C Marin to reach the WS final has been fulfilled and it would be an exciting contest against S Nehwal who would have the edge as she has appeared in many SS tournament finals. If Marin wins, she will create history for Spain.

It wasn't 'emotions' that make them lose. They just weren't playing particularly inventively, and Juhl's power from the back was definitely off. The Chinese were much more inventive, creating opportunities and exploiting them.

I'm inclined to agree with you, top players, particularly the more mature and experienced ones, should be able to think for themselves. In WSX's case just now, I was thinking maybe CJ , her new chief coach, might be able to jolt her up as Tang Xuehua is too familiar to her.

Somehow I feel the Danish WD played better just now, they were unlucky to lose in the end; it could have gone either way.

Very positive play from Tian Houwei, showing he really wants to create another sensational win as he did to LCW last year at this same but upgraded championship.

As an Indian, i'd like Saina to win. But wouldnt feel too bad if Marin does, as she is my favorite player too. It would be great for badminton if Marin does. Last time (i think last year), Marin gave a tough fight to Saina and only experience tilted the result in favor of Saina. But Saina is a better player compared to what she was few months back.

Lin Dan's reading of his opponent's game, applies to most of them, is very good, you see him anticipating the return shots time and again.

But he still appears a bit rusty with the occasional simple, uncharacteristic errors.

I have to say Lin Dan's retrieving of smashes not as good as before, whether he's diving for it or not. And sometimes he takes the opponent's drop shots rather late, his speed of movement not as fast as before.

THW can't afford to rally too much with Lin Dan; being the younger man , THW should attack more, otherwise LD will make him run and run all over the court to near exhaustion.

Wrong-footed LD but it went wide for THW.
