Chen Long was lulled into playing NTM's rallying game, making his life unnecessarily difficult. Instead he should up his pace, pile on the pressure, take the initiative more and dictate the rally to create attacking opportunities. Perhaps he should take a leaf from Lee CW how to whack the daylights out of most of the 'run-of-the-mill' opponents.
Could Chen Long be experimenting or trying out something ? Just moving NTM around, keeping the shuttle in play for as long as possible, hardly smashing - to improve his stroke play, consistency in placement shots and overall accuracy ? Not sure what he's up to.
The MAS need to work harder on attacking style and need the advises from compatriots Hoon/Tan that how they beat the Danes pair in last year China SSP (1st round) Furthermore they will have a rematch against the Danes next week MAS SSP 1st round...
Must be tormenting for NTM to lead 19-15 in G2 only to see Chen Long suddenly stepped up his game to turn it around and wrapped it up in two sets. It's as if Chen Lon purposely subject himself to pressure on the verge of losing, then try to come back and win it.
Ma Jin/Tang Yuanting, their maiden partnership? I believe so but who is the back court player, neither seems to be doing much of the smashing ? Btw, Tang Yuanting's normal partner is Ou Dongni.
One hour and eight minutes just for two sets in the Chen Long - NTM match, is probably the longest of its kind.
Bae YJ buoyed by the home crowd is in her rhythm whilst WYH seems reactive most of the time, not looking good for WYH.

Patient play from Polli/Maheswari on first set really paying off and saving energy on the second and injecting combination patient play and bit faster smashing and drive. Tomorrow will be much more difficult task
