At least 8 unforced errors from Sayaka gifted the match to BYJ. Girl's gotta work on her patience.

The steady, wily BYJ got a deserving win.
Sayaka got a very deserving loss.

Overall, not too much damage to the seedings going into R16. ;)

Now that nerves should have been settled and all that, let us see how respective strategies and tactics unfold.

It was a day of upsets in the 1st round of the main draw.
The following seeded players were beaten:
    Men’s Singles: DPY (S7), JOJ (S4), NTM (S8) & TS (S3)
    Women’s Singles: TTY (S8)
Indonesia MS have just D H Rumbaka left following the defeat of SDK and TS and Malaysia’s Misbun Ramdan, CPS/LPJ, GVS/LKW and the Ng sisters also bowed out.
J Schenk withdrew and also did not play in last week’s German Open, her home tournament. What has happened to her?

Jorgensen was a little unlucky, but when he made opportunities for himself he just didn't make them stick. SWH otoh, when he saw an opening, pounced on it and injected pace. You can't be passive against SWH who looks like he's just getting better and better post national service.

no choice for them as they have been drawn against the higher seeds players, especially for GVS/LKW and CPS/LPJ when they have to meet BoMo and Tot/Nat respectively...

The MS discipine has biggest number of upsets. The other headline from R/32 casualty is defending champion Liu XL/Qiu ZH who lost tamely to Ramussen/Sorensen.

It seems like some upsets . Biggest being tai by li michelle. She must be flying with confidence at this time.

Oh girl , sindhu lost to sun yu and equalled the h2h 2-2 now. Both of them will face each other in the coming years for many times. Both of them have lots of spsce for improvement.

Hu yun's lazy kind of play cannot work against deceptive players. He should change it to more offensive in order to survive.

Rajiv did it brilliantly to win against du pengyu. He has improved a lot. Chen long also was dragged to 3 games by victor axelsen .

son won ho is playing very well lately. Only few players had beaten him after his return from military. JOJ is inconsistent player. Lost to many unseeded players in the past year.

I expected a good fight from kirsty. But she succumbed . What she gonna do in the coming commomwealth games.

Saina looks like slim for me from the top angle. She returned to her previous style of play.lol. she kept attacking kirsty all the time. But how can she survive against excellent retrievers?. She need to ask herself about this.
