Phenomenal point by Vittinghus saving game point. Even the Malaysian coach applauds...
 
Followed by two easy mistakes by the Dane; LCW wins the first game 22-20.
 
Vittinghus, what a spectacular shot with his back turned and between his legs to win the point catching LCW off-guard ! One of the most sensational trick shots I've ever seen, the crowd applauded in amazement, LCW should too, but apparently he was too stunned to react.
 
Looks like LCW will take this one, 4 points away from victory...
 
And he takes it! First title after the Japan Open 2014. Congratulations!
 
No surprises in G2 as LCW takes the trophy. To be frank, I hadn't expected first Huang Yuxiang and now Hans K Vittinhus, in G1 specifically, to stretch him here. Could it be LCW has lost some of his mojo? Let's see how he fares in the following tournaments.
 
LOL! Someone from the crowd shouted "You come back next year, right?" and LCW smiled brightly. :)
 
No real worries for LCW there. He stepped it up when he needed to. All quite routine in the end. However, there wasn't a Lin Dan or Chen Long there, and I'm almost 100% sure he would lose to either right now. Heck, even when LCW was at his peak, he was losing most games against Lin Dan and half the games against Chen Long, so it's not like anything's changed.
 
As for WD, Zhong Qianxin is getting better and better, almost comparable to Tang Yuanting at the back court. Whether her partnership with Tang Jinhua is better than this time with Yu Yang here, we shall see as time goes by.
 
The CHN WJC MD champion, Li/Liu, is slowly and steadily making their mark in the senior international circuit. They add the US Open GPG to make it three GPG titles won so far.
