MS 1 would be tight enough. CL hasn't yet become a proper leader and he did loose to Son Wanho in 2014 during men's team final of Asian Games. And He also lost to Tago in 2014 during Thomas Cup semi-final. I won't expect too much from him although I won't put my money on Son WH

Look at it this way. KOR showed their glaring weakness in singles to MAS. CHN singles are even stronger than MAS. The gap in MS2 and MS3 is so wide, the only conceivable path to victory is MS1 and both doubles.

Agree! Riichi Takeshita gave a very good fight yesterday and had chance to win the match indeed. Very good fighting spirit as well, till the last point, displayed the Bushido spirit. And the same quality should be attributed to Tian Houwei too, he's also a very hard working player, unlike the lazy WZM :rolleyes: and Tian's stamina is excellent too, judging from his many times winning through 3-set matches.

Btw it's the very first time I watch the play of Riichi, didn't notice him earlier, just a no-name guy for me, but yesterday's match has changed my opinion, he's a player to reckon with.

I agree that SWH is a threat, he has the potential to win MS1. But the probability is low. While I think the outcome of MS3 is more uncertain. The difference between CL and Tian is that Tian can loose to lower player much more frequently, while CL is very stable.

Well, I just think that gap between SWH and CL is narrower compared to between THW and JHJ. Low it may be the probabbility of SWH winning a point, it's even lower for JHJ.
 
sorry if this has been asked before, but why is CHN 2nd MD not chai biao/ hong wei or qiu zihan/ liu xiao long? What happened to both pairs?

I believe you're not so dense, narrow-minded and prejudiced as not to realize the commentator was being facetious if you've been listening to him enough. By the way, his interesting, witty and funny comments said tongue-in-cheek are for all the players, not targeted at anyone in particular.
