Wishful thinking surely even if she can win, not without a great fight by LXR. And well, LXR just turned it around 22:20.
So happy that you were wrong. Her playing style is real anti-badminton where the only win condition is opponent's unforced errors.
WSX's superb defence is causing LXR quite a bit of trouble. I suspect LXR wants to concentrate more on next week's PSS to earn higher ranking points. The thing is these two ladies are slated to meet each other again then, unfortunately.
It's a perfectly valid playing style, just not very exciting to watch. So happy younger players have more proactive game plan.
TTY and IR are quite evenly matched, TTY is more error-prone but fitter though. If not for IR's improved fitness/stamina, the decider would have gone to TTY, I think.
Seems to me, LXR is not going all out attack to win, only want to do enough to take the match, if the opponent pushes her hard, she might let it go.
It doesn't mean LXR won't win it, it depends more on how hard WSX can push her for LXR wants to do just enough to win without expending too much energy. If LXR wins, I suspect she'll do the same for the next two rounds.
