There're some traffic arrangements to shorten duration from Athlete Village (Kemayoran) to Senayan, details will be updated further.
As I as I know and experienced, the transportation via app is safe ;)

    I have another question!

I was trying to find the dates for the Taekwondo event. Can anybody find them? How far away is the venue to badminton?

It will be held in JIEXPO Kemayoran, around 10-15 mins from the athlete's village..

Which means it is quite far from Istora...

And also I can't find the dates. So disappointing...

I don't know when will the tickets be available exactly.

It should be updated here when it ready : https://asiangames2018.id/ticketinfo (meanwhile the current info are about the previous Asian Games test events).

So, it is possible that they will use the same method as test event ticketing selling were done. BukaLapak.com and Tiket.com would be used again for Asian Games ticketing.

I find it disappointing that it's not held in 2019, in the sense that there are no World Ranking points towards this. Such a prestigious tournament for the Asian badminton players, it should be for a lot of ranking points towards the Olympic Qualification Period.

(Please do note that I only talk about the timing in regards to the Olympic ranking cycle, having it 2 years before the Olympics otherwise is a good idea so that every even year, the players can train for AG or OG).

It makes no sense for regional badminton competitions to have special significance because the Olympics do not limit/regulate qualification for badminton by region (except that the same badminton association can only have max 2 entrants per event) -- they might do this for the Olympics (they were thinking of scrapping badminton altogether) if China &/or Asia completely dominates the sport, but it turns out that the 2012 Olympics was a "once in a lifetime" event, even for China.

The sport that does this in the Olympics is called table-tennis (which has regional qualification events), because of the overpowering dominance of China & Asia in general.

Of course, there are badminton events that do this (like the Uber/Thomas/Sudirman Cup etc.) for representation and to encourage participation...

The 2019 Asian Championships should have points towards the Olympic Games anyways.

Pan Am has the Pan Am Games instead of the Individual Pan Am Championships towards the Olympics, and same with the European Games as well I believe. In that sense, I would assume African Games as well. And since the players take the AG so seriously, might as well have it kill two birds with one stone.

the thing is, the European never considered European Games as important
heck, even it only started in 2015. Asian Games has started since the 60's
African Games does have the Games, as well as Oceania. But Oceania doesn't even hve badminton in their sport list

The only thing that bother me is the presence of both Asia Championship and AG at the same year. They should do better than that to just erase BAC when there is AG at that year. Of course history still plays a role here, and thus, more time will be required to change this thing

Another one is the presence of Commonwealth Games at the same year as Asian Games.
Certainly, I am hoping that it is moved to 2017, 2021 etc, where there is no continental-level games at all. But, geez, it must be extremely difficult to bulge this event which sponsored by some of the wealthiest countries in the world.....
