Ya I'm also looking at the cheaper variations and if any diff can be felt. Especially for the intermediate players. Very stiff shaft is not something that will benefit the intermediate player. Not enuff strength. So the cheaper variants can be a great option. Base on this the out going model on offer seems to be a great deal. Sent from my SM-N986B using Tapatalk
Racquet of my post was the 88D pro, from what I have gathered about it, people said that it was less stiffer than the usual 88D, hence I was expecting it to be a little factor for the increase power in Sonoda's smashes
Refined RGS. More manouver due to less Swing force/head weight. Obvious right... But Yonex manage to makes it look like an advance, high tech, complicated calculation thing.
Eh tbh I'm not surprised early reviews feel this way. All the experience with rackets we have would have the same conclusion. You can't make something softer than it's predecessor and say it will hit harder especially if you give it even more holding effect. Sent from my SM-G975F using Tapatalk
Interesting - it looks like I'll be sticking with my 88s. I think I love the balance between power and speed so unless it gets bravesword like speed or amazing control not worth. Or need a more in-depth review like from Paul or something.
I bet I can predict this one. In a nutshell it would be better control and easier to generate power but lower power ceiling. Sent from my SM-G975F using Tapatalk
I use 88d 4U5 old and new colour, 88s o/n is not for me and i don't like. yesterday i try 88s/d pro both 4U5 with same string 66um 27lbs one hour more for each racket. My opinion, this 2 is better than previous model 88s/d old n new colour on all aspect. Power, speed, control, reflex and defence except the build quality, 88s/d feel more agile. For me who don't like 88s, 88s pro is different, really good double player racket, control is perfect, skill shot very superb. So Repulsive and the power is more than enough same like 100zz and abit better than nf700/nf800.but still for attacking player 88D pro never go wrong. Power. 88dpro > 88d >= 88spro > 88s Control 88spro > 88s > 88dpro >= 88d Speed(Defence) 88spro >= 88s > 88dpro >= 88d My opinion, you need to try first, before you buy, for me... My 88d o/n still good. So No really need to upgrade.
My feeling on the 88d pro 4u compare to 88d. Weight : 88d pro is slightly heavier Speed: 88d pro is slower Flex : Both quite similar Power: 88d pro slight edge but need adjustment during power smash as the shaft is shorter Control: 88d is better, more manuverable. Defense: both equally same, not the best as both are head heavy Conclusion: depend on the player, for me... I stick to 88d as I emphasis on speed.
Really interesting to see pro models beat the originals!!! Will the 2022 / 2023 future 88 s/d deluxe model beat the pro then?? Will have to wait and see if they release something like it or not!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
we need more comparation from BC reviewers for both old 88 vs 88 pro series. S and D especially for 3U user please. @foo.tw
The string pattern on the blue one is offensive - far too open. To paraphrase Chief Wiggum, "A badminton racket with the power of a trampoline, and the control... of a trampoline."
