*2020 Thomas Cup beaten finalist, China will be out of top-four seeding position, it means they will be drawn alongside one of these group contenders, INA or JPN or DEN or TPE.

    UBER Cup

*Possibly JPN-CHN or KOR-CHN clash will happen in semifinal round barring any massive upset as Uber Cup competition tends to be predictable scenario.

My assessment of the team's overall strength:

    Indonesia is the first
    Denmark is the second
    Japan is the third
    China is the fourth
    India is the fifth
    Thailand is the sixth
    ...

HK was offered a spot after NZ pulled out. However, a lot of the team are currently still in quarantine after returning from the Asia Championships. The Thomas and Uber Cup were not planned this year and getting a team together at such short notice was logistically difficult.

The focus for the HK team this year is the Asian Games. HK must get a medal there in order to retain its funding as an elite sport in HK.

It will be an uphill task for HK team to get a medal at Asian Games. Aside from XD, I don't see they have any chance in other disciplines.

I didn't check but Indonesia always perform well in team competitions. Somehow their below par representatives will play well and in this edition, the singles department.

Right. Don’t know when now. China’s zero covid policy in action.

I would not underestimate China. I think they have 2nd most likely to win after Indonesia. They always can turn an unknown to a quite good players. Denmark and Japan probably the other 2 that have chance to win it. The rest like Thailand, India, Malaysia and Taiwan not enough backups that can surprise and Korea may be able to produce surprise like they always do in team competition but hard to see them winning.

In Uber, even worse with Indonesia and Malaysia decide to concentrate on Sea Games and sending not the top squad. The top 4 would unlikely be challenged and should go to semifinal easily. Only in semi there might be some close ties
