2022 TotalEnergies BWF WORLD Championships : R/64-FINAL (22-28 August)

I thought CYF would choke there. But fortunately, she had 8 match points. She only needed one error from TTY and she got it.

He said that having a coach confuses him but without a coach , he plays without a plan it seems
more like i know everything there is to know about badminton & i definitely don't need someone who can't play better than me to tell me what to do on court.....

Some players like LCW,TTY are just not born with the mental strength to win the BIGGEST TITTLE of badminton world...Sad.

Well Played CYF You beauty.. what a game and what a resillience and fighting spirit she displayed absolutely loved it :):)

TTY taking the L again at World Championship. Her style of play is just not working against the consistent CYF.

We should have a rule that who use flash light, would be kick out immediately of the stadium and pay a fine.

So I'm gonna say this again. And I have said it over and over. But TTY's best chance to win the WC was 2017. In 2017, when she ascended to #1, nobody had figured out how to beat her yet. This is kind of like LKY's WC run in 2021, nobody knew how to beat LKY. By the time LKY won the WC, it was too late for other coaches and players to game plan him. Perfect timing for LKY. In 2017, TTY chose to skip the WC and play in the Universaide, despite so many other of her Taiwan teammates, choosing to play in the WC over the Universaide (ie. CTC and so many other Taiwan players chose to play in the WC in 2017, not the Universaide). TTY felt confident she could win the WC in another year - this may have been her biggest mistake, thinking she could win the WC in another year.

CYF may have a few more years in her prime, if she can keep healthy and keep her form up. Then you have upcomers like An Se Young, who may get even better in the next few years. And you have Akane Yamaguchi possibly in her prime now.

TTY will be 29 years of age next year. As Gillian Clark said, TTY was looking gassed in the 3rd set. But that's the problem with age. 28 years of age is not old, but here is where CYF might have a slight edge, being 4 years younger. In any case, it may get harder and harder for TTY to win a WC or OG, as age works against her.

I'm not saying that TTY can't win a WC or OG. It's still possible. But when age works against you, and other WS players rise (like An Se Young), it's probably much harder for TTY to win a WC/OG, than in 2017 when she was so much better than any other WS player, and nobody knew how to beat TTY in 2017.

Definitely a mistake to skip that WC for a tournament that no one knows or cares about, especially at her peak.

Yup, that's what I said in the TTY thread too. But some TTY fans keep defending her 2017 decision to skip the WC.

Man, if TTY had won the WC in 2017, she would have been revered by all her badminton compatriots in Taiwan. She would have done something that no other MS or WS Taiwan player had done in badminton (at least I don't think a Taiwan MS or WS player has won the WC before).

Thank you again. Now I can go play some badminton without worrying much for my YaSi

Yes sir have a good one ...But dont forget to cheer for WataShino tomorrow cause they will definitely win their first Major tittle for sure ;)

It will be very very very very hard for TTY to win her first major tittle now cause ASY,AY,WZY,HY,PC,ZYM and other youngsters are now rising up and by next year she wont have the stamina to match up against these girls even AY and CYF are younger than TTY and like we saw today how tired she got in the third set she just cant match their stamina and energy levels.

TTY's batchmates Carol,Pusarla,Ratchanok,Nozomi all have at least single major tittle and it is truly sad that she is one of the finest in the batch but yet soo unlucky.

but then if we go by Major Tittles then the biggest dream of any player is to win an Olympic medal and in this batch Carol,Pusarla,Tai,Nozomi have at least one each except Ratchanok and I think it will be very hard for the girls in this batch to win an Olympic medal in Paris cause by then much agile youngsters would be up.

A reality that is age which catches up to all of us is what we cant deny we saw how LXR,WYH left and there will come a time we will say goodbye to these golden era girls of WS someday till then we must relish their play.

Im getting emotional even writing about it I dunno what Id do the day Carol, Sindhu ,Nozomi,Ratchanok and Tai announce retirement :(
