Next month it would be one year from when I started stringing with the Ennoxx tension head. Beside the weird pin that lines up the two plates that grips the string suddenly flying out during a string release and the glide to activate stop working at the same time but all that seems to be resolved.
650+ rackets have gone through this tension head and so far it meets my expectations comparing it to a p9 and the other Li Ning / Victor oem machines. I kind of done minimal maintenance beside some wiping of the dust and using a tooth brush to brush some of parts of the gripper. The main body is plastic which to me isn't great considering most of my tools are metal and pointy so I put some TPU screen protector or furniture padding around areas which may come into contact to prevent scratches and nicks.
Since I only started stringing a year ago, I was on the lowest speed since it gave me time to get the next string ready then I was on Medium for a while before just keeping it on Fast at the start of 2025 as I start to improve time. Not expecting crazy Yonex P9 speeds but I wish the Ennoxx was just a touch quicker.
Prestretch Settings: 10% 15% 20% only, so I guess those who use 5% are left out not a biggie for me. My default is off, to be fair before when I would ask if they would want P.S majority of customers wouldn't know what it is, so I just don't ask anymore. Mostly its for my regulars if they just try or end up sticking with 10%.
I also like how it doesn't do that prestretch method with those beak machines where it pulls to the P.S tension then repulls again.
The unique thing that I found on the Ennoxx is the prestretch duration setting from 0-1sec hold. Before I had it at 1sec to help with my timing but now I have it at 0.7secs which I think is still quite long compared to other machines. Haven't really got a chance to experiment much with different settings yet but I'm assuming the longer it holds the tighter the string will be off the machine.
3 Memory Settings are a nice, which remembers your prestretch settings as well.
Knot button can be adjust the % in the settings and
Constant pull can be turned on and off.
One Nitpick: Other tension heads the plates can literally grab a tiny spec of string and pull and hold it pretty consistently. I feel I use to be able to do that before as well with the Ennoxx but recently its been slipping on like 4cm of string. So sometimes I end up just extending. Its much worst on thinner strings or exb63/65. This issue only arises around the 3rd cross from the top.
I guess on that point, the Ennoxx is mounted imo quite far from the racket. Forgot to measure last night but just from memory and images, the gripper is basically at the handle of the racket. Was debating to see if I can move it foward by drilling more holes into the plate.
Looks like the gamble on a new release product paid off and I am a happy user.
