[2024] Ennoxx Electronic Tension Head (by Tennisman)

Same effect when not wrapping. I did get a reply it looks like there is nothing I can do to fix it it is a manufacturing issue. On the bright side they say they will send me a replacement plate so looking forward to that (not sure shipping time). Luckily i can still string as putting a small piece of cardboard in the back evens it out (just annoying as the string constantly pops it out). I would put in a big of athletic tape but i do not want the glue residue to potential cause future issues.
Good to hear that there is a plan how to solve the issue. Please keep us updated.

I had a similar issue with my WISE when I first got it as it was originally optimized for tennis strings - I solved by just sticking post-it notes on the inside of the gripper; It was sticky enough to stay in place but not so much that it was hard to remove and easy to replace once it wears out. Eventually wise came out with a revised gripper that closed completely and I upgraded to that but during my early years with the WISE it always had post-it notes on the gripper.. lol

Next month it would be one year from when I started stringing with the Ennoxx tension head. Beside the weird pin that lines up the two plates that grips the string suddenly flying out during a string release and the glide to activate stop working at the same time but all that seems to be resolved.

650+ rackets have gone through this tension head and so far it meets my expectations comparing it to a p9 and the other Li Ning / Victor oem machines. I kind of done minimal maintenance beside some wiping of the dust and using a tooth brush to brush some of parts of the gripper. The main body is plastic which to me isn't great considering most of my tools are metal and pointy so I put some TPU screen protector or furniture padding around areas which may come into contact to prevent scratches and nicks.

Since I only started stringing a year ago, I was on the lowest speed since it gave me time to get the next string ready then I was on Medium for a while before just keeping it on Fast at the start of 2025 as I start to improve time. Not expecting crazy Yonex P9 speeds but I wish the Ennoxx was just a touch quicker.

Prestretch Settings: 10% 15% 20% only, so I guess those who use 5% are left out not a biggie for me. My default is off, to be fair before when I would ask if they would want P.S majority of customers wouldn't know what it is, so I just don't ask anymore. Mostly its for my regulars if they just try or end up sticking with 10%.

I also like how it doesn't do that prestretch method with those beak machines where it pulls to the P.S tension then repulls again.

The unique thing that I found on the Ennoxx is the prestretch duration setting from 0-1sec hold. Before I had it at 1sec to help with my timing but now I have it at 0.7secs which I think is still quite long compared to other machines. Haven't really got a chance to experiment much with different settings yet but I'm assuming the longer it holds the tighter the string will be off the machine.

3 Memory Settings are a nice, which remembers your prestretch settings as well.

Knot button can be adjust the % in the settings and Constant pull can be turned on and off.

One Nitpick: Other tension heads the plates can literally grab a tiny spec of string and pull and hold it pretty consistently. I feel I use to be able to do that before as well with the Ennoxx but recently its been slipping on like 4cm of string. So sometimes I end up just extending. Its much worst on thinner strings or exb63/65. This issue only arises around the 3rd cross from the top.

I guess on that point, the Ennoxx is mounted imo quite far from the racket. Forgot to measure last night but just from memory and images, the gripper is basically at the handle of the racket. Was debating to see if I can move it foward by drilling more holes into the plate.

Looks like the gamble on a new release product paid off and I am a happy user.

Mine is also one year old and 600+ rackets. Seem like my gripper plate is better set. I can still grab something like 1,5cm of string (Ryzonic 58)

i gave it a wipe and brush down. Theres a section where I'm assuming gets the most grabs between the plates which is very shiny. I think i just gotta close the plates quickly onto the string when doing glide to activate.

edit can't tell the difference because all my short ends have been around 3cm and it was a bg65 fest last night at 24lbs ish.

Does the Ennoxx need any maintenance like the Wise?
Looks like I will need to open it to lube something. It does produce a weird noise when tensioning. Nothing bad I think but I am hearing something that wasn't there before.
After 1000+ racket, it might be time for that

Ooh could you document pictures/videos of the sound and then of the maintenance?

Is it like a shuddering vibrating noise?

I had this weird one on the 3rd and 4th main pulls but only those pulls. Its almost like something resonates and just vibrates everything. Hasn't happen for a while now but I couldnt figure it out.

Im almost 3.5k rackets in and beside what I mentioned above and maybe one of the 2 metal cylinders between the 2 plates keeps shimmering their way out which now I put tape over.

I don't plan on opening it up anytime soon. Just the weekly brush down and dusting.

No, no vibration at all for now. Juste maybe a coiling noise at the end of a pull. It doesn't happen all the time so nothing to worry I think especially when yours is almost at 4k rackets haha

Does anyone have any photos of the Ennoxx mounted on a Prince Neos 1000 or an Ektelon Model H? Also if tennisman.de is shipping to Canada? I've contacted them and haven't heard back yet.

You might try to look for the Tourna model which I believe is the OEM of the Ennox

Tourna is the North American distributer of Xpider(OEM) stringing machines and equipment. Thats why the a lot of the stringing equipment under the tennisman and tourna brand look the same(the new clamps, down press bases, higher end stringing machines, and ennox tension head, ETC). the tourna ennox runs about $1.6k rn tho so if possible it would be better to buy off of tennisman (╥﹏╥)

Here is the noise the motor is making

While I don't own an Ennox (I have a WISE), I've run into this issue with poorly lubricated ball screws on some DIY CNC and 3D printing kits. There is a return for the ball bearings that gets jammed up when the driver changes direction. Might be fixable with some extra grease.

Here is a reddit post that demonstrates the issue: https://www.reddit.com/r/hobbycnc/comments/nmldjv/ball_nut_gets_slightly_jammed_and_makes_clicking/

Thanks.
But the Ennoxx uses a chain driven system so it is different from the WISE.
I still haven't had the time to open the motor 🥲

So a little over 3.5k rackets, and I'm also getting the high pitch squeek sounds, mostly when the tension head returns/releases the string. But sometimes it happens both ways. Got slightly worst and worst at around the 9th - 12th racket of the day.

I finally open the Ennoxx but I couldn't fix the squeeky sound. It seems to sound from the motor itself.
I didn't want to mess anything so I didn't go further aside from cleaning a little bit.
