by happenstance that i came across the HK badminton association channel. been a while since i heard badminton commentary in cantonese. wondering if you know that photographer?
I do happen to know him! What’s so interesting about him? I thought he was the least interesting person in the photo.
is he the same guy who took those tomoka pictures you posted on the macau thread? the photo credit went to some sc yu...
i dont know him. i have been sidelined by injuries old and new - ankle tendonitis, foot capsulitis, and more recently gout - which allow more time to get nosy on the internet. we are probably in the same age group. i wonder how he plays and trains and remain relatively injury free all these years.
He modifies the training to accommodate. https://www.badmintoncentral.com/fo...t-training-regime.170384/page-20#post-2886431 Ankle tendonitis - one can look for toe and foot exercises to rebuild the arch of the foot. One can use prosthetic soles but working on the root cause (which is a poor arch of the foot) will be helpful. Flat feet is common amongst persons of Asian descent.
yeah, orthotics and towel scrunches for years...the end of the tunnel seems to be very social badminton.
Would still recommend general weight training with squats, deadlifts, resistance bands, hangs for grip strength. All are good to maintain muscle mass, bone density and your balance especially as age increases. Not to go crazy with weights but some weight loading exercises is good.
quite right, though there is much more inertia when no badminton is involve...gives a new appreciation for people not just playing but competing in the masters well into their late sixties and seventies.
