Hi all. Ive been using the 3rd gen 88d pro for 3 months now. It is undoubtedly a powerful and comfortable racquet for any kind of playstyle as long as you have enough power on your arm. Backcourt player for doubles with a bit drives and net plays, and sometimes single game. Truth is, i've only been able to optimally use it for about 4-5 sets and after it overhead shots became slightly mistimed. I realized that my arm is kinda tired from using it for 4-5 sets even if i dont feel the racquet became heavier at all. I think a second racquet to complement the 88d pro is a good idea for after 4-5 sets. Currently i use astrox 100 game as a second racquet but due to its medium stiff feeling and very little head heaviness, i find it also difficult to generate enough power for a sky-piercing smash. Do you guys have recommendation for a second racquet? Budget is about 40 - 80 usd or 600k - 1.200k in idr (yonex play or game series budget range), soft to medium stiffness, head heavy, not taxing on arms, and have quite good durability. Now considering TCZ boost, axforce cannon / cannon pro but open to other options. Thanks before folks! Sent from my 2306EPN60G using Tapatalk
I have tried cannon and cannon pro @4u. I own 3rd gen 88D pro and cannon pro. Cannon is too flexible but very easy to generate power. Where as pro is balanced between control and power, also it's medium flex. You can also try lining big bang, mizuno jpx 3 rage and Astrix 3 DG ST
Been looking at axf cannon and astrx 3dg st. Is dg st not too stiff? Does it have enough head weight compared to 88d pro? Never tried it vefore, but thanks mate Sent from my 2306EPN60G using Tapatalk
You can never compare 3DG with 88D pro. But compared to cannon, 3DG is head heavy and slightly stiffer. Lining racquets have muted feel, but Astrox feel is better. 88D pro is more refined, shots are steeper and swing is easy.
hi, I have the second gen 88D pro, I’m now thinking to upgrade to 3rd gen. I wonder if it’s worth it. I heard that it’s weigh less than the second gen.
I own both generations in 4U. 3rd gen is lighter and swings faster. 3rd gen shaft is a touch stiffer too. If you get used to it, you can generate similar power with 3rd gen.
