    Hi everyone,

I'm currently using the 77 pro, and I love it. If I were to get a new racquet, I want it to be faster than the 77 pro. Can the 100zz be faster, considering it is stiffer and has a more compact frame? Or will the head heaviness slow it down more than these factors?

    Thanks.

If you love the Astrox 77 Pro, no need to get a new racket no? Why not just get more instead of getting a new racket?

I know someone would say so. And I did that. I'm just thinking about something that could be better, just exploring.

I've been using the Astrox 77 and now 77pro for the past 2 years, during the time I've tried the 100zz too. I found it to be too stiff for my liking, yes it's noticeably faster than the 77s, but the stiff vibration feedback was something I found uncomfortable. The compact head also makes the racket unforgiving if you don't hit it right at the sweetspot, something harder to compensate for when playing doubles fast paced game

Thanks for your input. So it is faster as I thought. I might be fine with the stiffness, but the smaller sweetspot definitely concerns me.

It's faster because of the stiff shaft, so the head travels and nearly the same time with the shaft. The 77pro being slightly flexier, the shaft would bend more and the head will snap back a couple milliseconds later.

When you say you want a faster racquet , what sort of shots are you thinking of?

Could you hold the racquet higher up the handle a bit when you anticipate needing a faster racquet?

The net kill and defensive shots. I already hold the racquet higher up whenever doing these shots. Changing grip during rally is what I do well.

I just had a chance to use my friend’s 100zz, and it is indeed faster than my 77 pro. However, the stiffness and the smaller head did make it harder to use for quick net kills and defense. If I get one, it will take me some time to adapt, and switching between the 100zz and 77 pro during games will be challenging. So I decided to take it off my next purchase list and stick with the 77 pro for maybe a long time.

I tried my friend's Arc 11 pro, and I dislike it. The shuttle holding is just too much. My friend doesn't like my 77 either, so it's just personal choice.

If you ask about speed, I will check again and let you know next week. But I assume the Arc 11 should be faster, considering it's not as head heavy.

haha I noticed you hand the first hand experience with what I felt using the 100zz. Honestly the 77pro is a very all rounded racket, after using it constantly for so long, I really have no need for another racket

I just notice that it is used by the best front players in XD (Huang and Huang), best WS player (ASY), and was used by one of the hardest smashers in MD (Liang). It says a lot about its versatility. I wished it was faster, but I guess something has to be sacrificed for that. The 77 pro deserves more recognition, at least the same as the other Astrox pros.

Astrox 77 Pro with compact head (Z-Speed style ) and full recess frame, that would be my dream racket.
