If you were a member of the badminton team in college in China, I am sure you can be a member of the University team in Manchester.
Chloe, I was in Manchester a couple of years ago. I used to play at Sugden Sports Centre, just opposite Grosvenor Halls of Residence. Not sure if they are still active.
If you are at university you should definitely go to the university clu. There is sure to be some players of your level and it is likely to be cheaper too!
The level of play in the Uni club back then was not advanced. Not sure about now. Suddenly I was Lin Dan there. haha !
If you have your own transport the you could come to our club - www.nettlesbadminton.org.uk - we have a few chinese people at our club (including me). However as a student I expect you will be relying on public transport. There some links in our website to other clubs that may be nearer. Also in Manchester Chinatown there are some community centres who could probably help out.
Hellooooo Hey there!! Ive just graduated from Salford uni but I have played at almost every club in manchester! haha, I know that the Manchester first team is quite strong with a few county players in and also there is quite a large asian player base there. Theres also a club at Trinity sports centre a few blocks down from manchester university on saturdays and sundays, the sunday club has a better standard than the saturday club, if I remember correctly the saturday club starts at 4pm and the sunday one starts at 11:30-2pm and then the saturday club also has a session on sunday from 2pm-4pm. Hope this helps you! if you need more info I can get in contact with a manchester uni team member for you. Enjoy your time in Manchester!
there isnt really an age limit just that you would get mashed if your a beginner 21/07/15 the club is still on but they only play with plastics ...
