Ya, taufik really did a lot of hairpin net shots today ! But LD was making more Unforced errors than usual. I guess this is the third time seeing him losing games while having game points. 1st in MO final against LCW, then the team event against LHI.

5 golds to 4 countries in individual events, so there is healthy competition compared to team events. China still dominates in WD, and XD as well.

There is already a lot said about China's upset in MS and WS. IMO both NSS and draw makes result less predictable and more nail-biting. As a fan that don't favor any one or country, I think this is good for badminton. A shot at gold makes everyone pumped up.

Too bad there is no video uploaded yet for LD vs. TH (team or MSF) yet. WDF and XDF also seems to be a close match from scoring.

I think AG2006 will be a game to remember for fans.

Why ask? KKK TBH is the new Asian Games Doubles Champion! They deserve it!

It's been quite some time when I last heard our national athem in the badminton arena

Bersatu dan maju... Rahmat Bahagia... Tuhan Kurniakan... Raja Kita, Selamat Bertakhta

It seems to me that CCM/KKK pair have been "saturated". I doubt the pair could go any further should they resume their partnership. On the other hand, both KKK and TBH are young and there is a lot of space for them to pursue more honors. We still remember how the later Soon Kit/Kim Hock pair eventually outshone earlier, already respectable Soon Kit/Beng Kiang pair. Be patient. It won't take long for KKK/TBH to do the same to the former (?) CCM/KKK pair.

Quick question: Chandra/Sigit vs. Chandra/Tony ... which pair is better? Still remember the chronological order of their pairings?

This case is different cause Tony is a genius. He won the world championship with different partners. KKK/TBH still a long way to go, but of course I hope your prediction comes true !! No harm done for us right ?

Ha ha ha ... sorry if I was too harsh on LD's fans ... I didn't mean it ...

TH's fans are too excited right now as we don't know when would be the next time TH "wants" to win ... ha ha ha

Congrats to MAS MD pair, they are incredible and deserved the victory ... congrats to Rexy, too for the success.

    IIRC ........
up to 1998 : Candra/Sigit (they won WC in 1997)
    after 1998 - 2001 : Candra/Tony (they won AE1999 n Olympics 2000)
    2001 - retired (2006, Thomas Cup) : Candra/Sigit (they won AE 2003)
after Thomas Cup 2006 - now : Candra/Tony (they won Japan Open 2006)

Candra/Sigit was split due to Sigit got banned from IBF in 1998 for 2 years.

Well, I was predicting that KKK/TBH will become another Soon Kit/Kim Hock, not Tony/Chandra. It would be even bolder to predict KKK becoming another Tony eventually, but we shouldn't rule out such a slim possibility because he is still young.

The interesting question that I asked before ... Tony/Chandra vs. Sigit/Chandra - which is a better pair if they have the chance to play each other in a fantasy world?

There were a lot more pairs at the same level at their prime (e.g., I still remember the four top pairs in the world during my school days who ruled the MD scene for more than 5 years - Joo Bong/Moon Soo [they were the Tony/Chandra pair of their time], Sidek bros, Bingyi/Yongbo & Gunawan/Hartono) ... but for the time being, we are talking about the present top pairs.
