Hi, any of you ever visit the IBF forum at www.worldbadminton.net? That place is turning out to be a mad playhouse these days. I mean the things people write on that board just make you want to puke, cuz of wasted bandwidth lol. Shows again that moderators are major gg.
Not anymore I used to check it out every once in a while, but I don't bother anymore. It's just too full of spam.
Yeah, over there every post is about one's country being better than another. Also, don't forget the infamous Kevin KS Han. (shivers) I remember when he once stepped foot in to BF (shivers), good thing he got banned. Phil
That forum appears more like a personal forum just for a few individuals; who are very narrow minded! Just could not be bother to visit there just after 1 visit. Rather ridiculous with claims like "country X" is the best when their players are relatively unknown! -sigh-
i go there every once in a while. and i agree, that forum is so bad that i am actually afraid to post a "come visit BF.com" message there. what if some of those people comes over and spoil this forum as well? on the other hand though, there seems to be a few good people there. but the noise ratio is just too high and that is discouraging.
I would not worry too much about posting there, Kwun. I find it quite unlikely that people who use the IBF forum do not kow that BF exists. It is probable that many of them have other alias' which they use here. The difference in the tone of their postings will be down to proper moderation.
I go there every time .... I feel like reading idiotic, nationalistic drivel from immature troll losers, which happens once every... century or two. I've seen trolls and un-moderated posts cause a site to deteriorate, but nothing like on the IBF forum. Whoever at IBF is in charge of the forum should be ashamed of him/her self
it is a tough job unfortunately. the software that they used is the same as the old BF software. rather primitive. deleting a post is a pain. also, i had to code a lot of hacks into it to ban users. i doubt the IBF people would have similar expertise. and that's one of the reason i was willing to shell out a couple hundred bucks for the new software. it is a breeze to moderate any posts with this one. anyway. maybe i can open up a "IBF forum" and they can point to it just like the JR forum...
Hmm, I just replied to a post over there titled "This forum sucks." I said that for those that really want to discuss badminton, to come to BF. But I also said that if you're an ass, you'll get booted quickly enough. I hope I didn't invite a swarm of immaturity over here. You can ban by IP right kwun? Phil
Phil, yes. there are enough mechanism to ban people with this software. no problems. thanks. i hope we get more serious users come over. the more the merrier. and if Kevin KS Han ever steps in here, i will ban him without blinking my eyes.
Must be because the original post was offensive to the forum. Too bad, now people won't see my invitation. I'm not going to post another one though. Mainly because I don't feel like going there again in the near future. I guess if you want to post an invitation, you can, kwun, since most likely not many people saw my post before the thread was killed. Phil
Heh, maybe that's why the thread was killed? Maybe they don't like to see their visitors pulled to other forums?
Hehe, possibly. I read in the Terms Of Use that one of the three "NO's" is no advertising, etc. However, another of the No's was no offensice comments, etc. The original thread was titled "This Forum Sucks." I guess that sort of explains itself. Phil
One of my main beefs with that page is how slow it moves. I mean, I checked it out in the last 2 days and basically 2 new posts came up and only a few replies for the old posts. Here, everyday, I could easily spend half-an-hour sifting through the new replies and threads. And also, the information here is much more useful.
The webmaster in that forum has applied some form of quota or bar to postings especially to servers from Msia and some from US. Very obvious who the target is, unfortunately most of the trouble makers are from Msia and a few from Us therefore the no. of posts are reduced substantially.ie those who get thru are not from Msia.
Have just pop-in to the forum to check out if there's any interesting topic/results. The forum's quality is not getting any better. Looks more like children's playground.
