Hi Guys I bidded on a racket a few days ago and won it. He said he bought it from Central Sports a while ago but he did not use it. (i am sure central sports is a legit company) I just want to confirm it is def real I have taken quite a few photos as best as i can. Let me know if there is any extra photos you want. Thanks Guys
I am kinda querying it because there was no hologram and somewhere on a website i spotted that there should be a hologram? Is this fake because there is no hologram?
Usually a very good sure fire way is to see the butt of the racquet. All the fakes I have seen before have very short legs on the letters A of the JAPAN word. Not easy to tell looking at it alone. But if put beside a genuine one, the difference will be obvious. Here is a website for your reference. https://www.badmintonbay.com/blog/genuine-case-fake-yonex-racket/
Hi West I looked at that. It is still quite tricky to use that to assess whether it is a fake or not. My main questioning is there is no hologram on my one. Does that instantly mean it is a fake? If anyone else can analyse the pictures and give me their input i would apprentice it. Thanks
Although hologram sticker is hard to peel off, but it does not rule out the fact that your hologram sticker was removed. Therefore, using the fact that you do not have the hologram sticker to say if the racquet is genuine or not is not very fair. So what I can use to analyse is only left of your racquet butt. Frankly speaking, I would say is fake. As the font of the JAPAN word is a big tell tale sign. Sorry to say yours is a fake. I am just giving my true opinion.
If it was bought from centralsports, seller could login to his account and print off receipt. The hologram stickers do peel off easily, so it not being there isn't immediate cause for alarm.
Wow i am quite surprised. Central sports are well known. I wish there was a more obvious way to tell they are fake
Ok i have asked the seller to see if he can get me the confirmation receipt. If it was indeed central sports, then that is a huge disappointment because you would not expect that from them.
Hmm i am looking at those so closely but i cant seem to tell that it is a fake from this. I do have other genuine rackets at home. I will compare them. Or i will post them on here.
This was his reply "Hi, no unfortunately as the racket was bought a few years back I do not have a receipt. I did provide you with the serial number to you previously though before you bid on the racket, so, and although I appreciate anyone wanting to check on products bought on eBay, i did provide this before any bid was placed and I assumed you must have checked the serial number before you bid. All I can really say is that I did buy both rackets together via the internet from the online store mentioned and that I did provide as much information about the rackets when I listed them as I possibly could. I have no idea if the store I bought them from is still trading, but if it helps put your mind at rest then it would be worth contacting them or perhaps contact Yonex. I am not sure what else I can suggest but I would appreciate if you could resolve this fairly soon as I cannot draw down the funds until you leave feedback, or wait 21 days otherwise. Thanks" So 2 rackets were on auction and i won one of them. I will inspect again properly when i get home.
Ok so i took a photo of the back of my brothers muscle power 44 which was bought years ago from sweatband so i am sure this is genuine. The one with the blue grip around him is the MP44 and the other one is my armortec which i am assessing. Can you guys see a clear difference?
Ok so i have done a bit more digging and pulled out my broken armortec 500 that i bought years ago. I know for a fact this was def genuine because i bought it from direct badminton UK website. See photos of this. I peeled off the grip and i found a bar code on the wooden part. Dunno what this means tho. Now i compared all the logos and they all look identical. There is no discrepancy between them. Let me know what you guys think. The single cap is from my armortec 500 .
I don't think it's fake, I used armortec 500, 700, 800 and 900 for years. I've never seen a fake with UK code and the correct date format. The holograms come off very easily.
http://sticksmash.com/2017/09/20/10-easy-ways-spot-fake-yonex-racket-2017/ seriously next time save EVERYONE the trouble and post your query before purchasing by the way it looks real/authentic you can also check the power armor frame and the Ti on the head
Sorry about that but there was no way of identifying before i won the auction. I took these pictures in detail just to check if it was not a fake. I think it is real because when i hold my broken armortec 500 and my new 800. They look so identical and there is nothing to suggest it is a fake. But then again, fake rackets are so well made now it is always going to be difficult to tell. Thanks everyone.
2004 racket, not surprise without hologram, it is not the ONLY authentication prove in fact i never pay any attention to any hologram sticker. The racket is 100% authentic. Congrats on a good buy. Serial matches the production date and the butt cap looks legit. And it is a UK coded, a double insurance IMO. Cheers
