Ars fantome vs 100x ultra

Hello, I have played with all 4 of these rackets, with HS-Plus currently my most favorite racket, I would like to share my personal comparison between them.

Stiffness: HS-Plus > 100X Ultra = TKF Ultra > Fantome. However I would consider the Fantome a pretty stiff racket too.

Balance point: Fantome > 100X Ultra = HS-Plus = TKF Ultra. Fantome has a very high balance point, the other 3 are more or less the same, as Victor rackets always seem to have large variations in specs between those of the same model.

Clear: they all do very well, there is no significant difference between them, but if I have to rank them then 100X Ultra > HS-Plus > TKF Ultra = Fantome

Drive: HS-Plus is the most stable and has the most weight behind its drives. Fantome has the fastest swing. 100X Ultra and TKF Ultra have very nice drives too. Overall I would rank HS-Plus > 100X Ultra = TKF Ultra > Fantome

Smash: HS-Plus > 100X Ultra > Fantome = TKF Ultra. This is the area that I’m most certain about.

Control: HS-Plus > TKF Ultra > 100X Ultra = Fantome. The combination of super light weight + super high balance point gives me accuracy troubles with Fantome.

Defense: HS-Plus and Fantome excel at this area in their own way. HS-Plus’ super stiff shaft + compact frame makes returning shot an intimidating attack on its own, if your strength and skill are up for it. Fantome is so fast, it would give a boost in reflex I feel. 100X Ultra and TKF Ultra are decent enough.

Overall for me HS-Plus is a near perfect racket: formidable smashes, super stable drives and superb control. 100X Ultra is perhaps the most “fun” racket of the 4, being able to dish out super steep smashes and drives while also is decent enough at other areas. TKF U too is decent in all area but is a bit boring, similar to Astrox 77 Pro, another racket that is decent to great everywhere but excels at nothing (No, TKF Ultra doesn’t play similarly to 77 Pro, I’m just using 77 Pro as an example of a great all around but boring racket from Yonex). Fantome is also a super fun racket to play with, blazing speed with superb mid to front court smashes.

I own 4 HS-Plus including a 3U, 4 Fantome including a 3U, 3 100X Ultra including a 3U, and 2 TKF U both 4U. Been playing with them since the release. Hope my input helps.
Heya, I'm still using an old thruster F (blue one) for doubles. Wanna get a new racquet but too much choice. As age is setting in, don't really want a head heavy racquet. So anything that hits as hard as the original TF but easier on the shoulder.

My racquets are:
1. Ax 88dp 3rd gen 4U
2. NF 1000z 4U
3. ARS 100x 4U

I need your suggestion to buy a new racquet. In my list (all 4u):

1. ARS Fantome
2. ARS HS plus
3. Halbertec 8000
4. NF 800 pro or 700 pro
5. Aeronaut 9000 i

I play mostly doubles and not a hard smasher but I like fast play. Please suggest me which racket should I try.

Thanks

Bought a Fantome today.
Aesthetics: Beautiful racket
Super easy to play
Power: Decent power for smashing not like 100zz but honestly very power.
Swing: super fast
I play fast and this racket is super fast. just love it.

Do you prefer the 3u 100X Ultra to the 4u version?

The playability depends on individuals..And I used all 4 of these rackets. Out of all these I love Fantome more. Maybe I used Jetspeed S10 old version for longer time I love Fantome racket. For me HS plus took a while to get adjusted..And I used BG 80 power @26 lbs in all rackets.

For me 4U 100XU is better. 3U 100XU has slightly better power but if I want that, I would switch to another racket like HS-Plus or 90KM. 4U 100XU is just overall better and is a much more complete racket.
Great I'll be getting a 4u 100xu, been trying to decide between 3u 4u 100xu and fantome but it's taking a long time to release.

Thats true. I need to test HS+. Which version do u use?

Hello back everyone,

After I asked a question here, here is what I did. I bought 100x ultra but didnt like it due to head speed. I felt it is too slow for my taste, sold. I bought nf700 pro because as mentioned here fantome seems like head heavy. I love nf700pro so far, but wanted a stiff fast attacking racket so bought 90km. 90km is amazing racket too but I need to get used to it due to stiffness. although stiffness of 90km and hs plus on paper same, I felt hs plus is stiffer.. 1x tkf, 1x 90km, 1x nf700, all in 4u, feels very nice, all of them are fast rackets (tkf is relatively fast for a hh racket) and different enough but I want another nf700 or something similar to it because I like little stiff, speed rackets, I dont lose power by using head light speed rackets.
For now, I may buy one more nf700pro, but I did little research and I am a bit confused about fantome. I may consider buying fantome instead of nf700pro.
So, at the shop I asked the guy, he said it is even balanced. Without the string, dry swing, I also felt even balanced ish. When I look online, some people say headheavy, some people say headlight, and few says even balanced.

What are your personal experience on fantome on balance point? Could you provide me your experience about fantome so I can make comparison to nf700pro and make a decision of getting an another nf700 or a fantome

Thanks in advance

You didn't like the HS plus @Sainttoo ?
I have the HS, 90km and 800pro and prefer the HS. I think it's non-userfriendliness is a bit exaggerated. I also think it's more powerful overall than any other Victor Auraspeed. And of course very quick.

I agree, it s a bit exaggerated, but nf700 is super user friendly and constant smashing in drills is very difficult with hsplus, so I want one more nf700 or something similar

Ah forgot to mention I tried 800pro too but didnt like it. I used to love original nf800. I really hate yonex for releasing 800pro, it is not even close to original nf800

If you want something similar to nanoflare 700 or 800(not pro) definitely it will be Fantome..You will be surprised to see the power it generates and at the same time the speed..Comparing the durability also it will be way better than nanoflare series..

Fantome is very good. I think it is more head heavier than nf700. Good power on smashing. Did you buy or try HS plus? I wanna try HS plus but its stiffer racket than others

Is HS+ similar to 1000z or 88dp? I am in dilemma to buy it after watching reviews of CK and other review in reddit. Give some light on it.

I think the HS plus is comparable to an easier to use (still not easy), 1000z. I was surprised when CK compared it to an 88dp. My biggest concern when transitioning from a 77pro was lack of power and increased stiffness but so far so good. I actually think my smash power has increased. (Both 4u)

But I heard it is more demanding and unforgiving. Is your stamina drain after 2-3 match with HS+? Like I can play whole day with fantome, Ars 100x and nf1000z. It wont drain my stamina so quickly. Also, 88dp if felt elbow pain. Do you ever feel the same?

I feel the same, coming from the 77pro to the HS Plus. The victor is faster but I can still hit harder. Trade off is that it is more tiring due to the stiffness

Hmm I've never personally got any elbow pain from playing badminton, even when trying the 3rd gen 88dp. But yeah no trouble stamina-wise yet but I haven't actually had really competitive, fast-paced league games since I've started using it, so time will tell! Give it a try i guess. I was reluctant too after watching a few youtube reviews but I disagree with them :)

I felt 88dp 3rd gen really tiresome after few games. Few of friends reported the same elbow pain. May be you have good techniques. Now, I am using fantome and 100x (not ultra). Thats why thinking If it is not suitable then I have to resell it which is a hassle to me
