Madbad means...nothing is impossible....
Yes anything can happen. So you can't afford to take chances. If you can finish off the game fast, as a professional player, you should.
Remember, not a few of the top class badminton players got injured during a rally. Achilles tendon injury has claimed quite a few casualties namely Peter Gades, Wong Choong Hann, Ronald Susilo, Tine Rasmussen .......
I'm sure no knife is allowed into any sporting event for security reasons but it can be smuggled in.
From a personal point of view, if someone started giving me points out of pity, I would feel more insulted. It would probably make me feel more like a loser. Better to go down in flames 21-0 with the opponent giving an honest effort than to look good on the scorecard but knowing you'd been looked down upon.
A good point here....but, it all depends on individual I guess...
Yes I remember the WCH incident in the last TC. Goes to show there's never a sure thing. I do concur that as a professional, you go and do your job and do it well.
TKM girl may also say: I don't need you to give me any point. I want to earn it myself. I have my own self-esteem and dignity. You may be better, but I want to test myself to find out where I stand...
Yes, you're right. I guess I'm a black-hearted mercenary
Shame on you young man, giving only 5 points to an uncle more than twice your age!
It just shows I am a nice gentleman
give me 1 point, is enuff....at least I m not that embarrassed...and, eating 2 eggs in a row, not good for health, high colestrol....
Gentleman good enough lah.
When you add "nice", that's a different story ...
OK OK OK... who is their (SG pair) next opponent?
Nova Widianto must play 3 matches today...he (with Candra) have beaten Nepal pair in this morning, then he will play for MixD match (meet Korean) and then meet Sakamoto/Ikeda....that`s crazy...how he (with age 31) can keep stamina for his full day matches...
I am wondering any other players play 3 matches like him today??
Kah, Kah, Jason & Jimbo, so funny... fren fren ah jimbo?
I remember BCers have joked & bantered on this bf & we thought can never happen in tournament condition. Hence the surprise & debate you all had, me suppose.
'Uncle' Loh, total points for whole match or per game?
Since it's WD, maybe we all should ask Jessica, she played competitively till recently. What she'll do in a tourney... oops, Most probably Jessica is busy watching at the stadium.
i think she want to give 1 or 2 points, or maybe more. But each time she want to do it, the opponent return stuck in the net.
Oh did Jessica play competitively? At what level? Anyway we'll be meeting her on Sat and Sun for the ABC SF & F! And jimbo is coming along too!
Of course, I meant per game basis.
Uncle Loh, should we bring along our rackets to challenge Jessica? Anyway, pls bring along ur high-end camera
Yup, she posted so in a couple of threads, played for school up to state level or sthing. Now going to college. You can ask her abt it when you see her.
He he, KKK/TBH let their 1st round opponent get 6 pts per game, total 12 pts. That's Msia.
Vietnam MD trashed Maldives with total 6 pts, 3 pts per game.
Ya loh, really really really kiasu and bad, throwing a few points while leading 20-0 won't make u lose the game in NSS.
R they rewarded in prize money for creating the record?
I am going to Johor Baru tomorrow from Singapore..
Question: how do I go from Singapore to Johor Baru??? Pls...
