does anyone know if mediacorp is gonna telecast any badminton matches? if yes where can we get the schedule from??
hmm i checked the chnl5 progamme guide but i dun c any badminton.. all i see is table tennis and Asian Games - Live From Doha, Asian Games - Today At The Games.. i dunno whether does the 2 programmes cover badminton or not.. http://ch5.mediacorptv.com/wassup/progguide/index/.html
if singapore enter semi finals then sure got show one. so pray that singapore enter semi finals lor. haha.
they should broadcast one or two events anyway, if not then how to catch the attention of aspiring young kids? not like the kids care if its not singapore anyway.
looks like the only way is to keep a lookout on every games telecast. li li and xing aiying just beat thailand i think...hope singapore at least makes it to the next few rounds
Singapore women badminton team lost to Hong Kong: http://www.doha-2006.com/gis/sports/BD/IGBDschedule.aspx?id=42
yeah, but they are still the group winner. so they are in semis! i see a potential broadcast here...hehe
Well Mediacorp was showing it live @ 3pm today.... didn't know till I saw this thread in HWZ. Hopefully there will be an encore telecast! http://forums.hardwarezone.com/showthread.php?t=1471956
Li Li beat hongkong's cheung in round of 32...... ronald susilo just gave the syria player 21-4 21-5....and he'll be facing bao chunlai tonight!!
this Asian Games' tv coverage is mediocre at best. somehow, i managed to catch a live match between Taufik vs a Viet player in the men's singles during the wee hours of last night on Ch5. pure luck. but it was a refreshing twist from the usual broadcasts which feature Singaporean contestants. but let's face it: Singapore might be strong medal-hopefuls in Sailing, but would you want to watch it 'live'? give me Ally McBeal anytime! (yucks) things are made worse by the total absence of coverage by the SCV sports channels. Let's just pray hard that Singapore badminton players go all the way to the finals so that it gives us mere mortals the faintest glimpse of hope of being able to watch our favourite game on TV.
I watched li li vs a tapei player a few nights before she was kinda cute, smiling after making a big big error
omgggggggggg.............anyone saw how xing aiying just lost to korea's hwang?? the darned line judge gave a bad call against xing and awarded hwang a crucial equalizer. anyway xing did the most outrageous backhand cross court net shot i seen in my life in the final set. apart from that, the shorter xing appeared to be strained in the 3rd set and couldn't take the long lobs early enough. both players seemed to lose their width judgement and kept taking shots that were obviously wide.......but well.......i thought she was gonna get another medal.........too bad but great fight put up.
xing aiying was doing great, just that she took quite a number of risks and did not turn out well, like there was once the shuttle went to her backhand but she took the chance and bent over to use a forehand but failed. still I like Li-Li more
Astro in Malaysia have 4 channels covering the Asian Games. I don't know why sports coverage in Singapore is generally weak. Even have to pay extra for the World Cup.
I know why, because they will never cover sports that we lost, did not do well or did not participate. Even its the soccer world cup you realise that they only show the finals. And before i went into badminton i thought the only major tournament was the olympics but there are others just that the media didnt cover it because we lost. the one featuring xing aiying was because the media thought she would win for sure seeing her performance in the first set, but she lost in the 2nd and 3rd set. and the commentator was awfully noisy when i watched the match
