just played with the AT900-T =)
    Strung /w NGB 95 @ 25lbs
    3UG4

again moving from an NS8000 3UG4 strung /w NGB 95 @24 lbs... there was definitely a difference lol. For sure heavier and i couldn't generate a lot of power at first, but that's for any new racket that you're trying out =)

But give this racket some time, as when you use this racket more, you'll begin to be able to use its power. I realized this after around 1 hour of playing =).

Smashes for me was a lot stronger and the drives and clears are really effortless =).

Overall very happy with the switch, just need more time to adjust ^^

    I had tried an AT900-P 4ug5 now.
IMO, it's a good racket for Singles.
Though it fits my assumption to be not as good as 3U AT900T overall, it still performs nearly as good, except for the durability.
What's the point to go for an overall worse racket rather than 3U AT900T?

If you are using a 3U AT900-P in Doubles and also play Singles sometimes, a 4U AT900P gives you a very close performance to 3U AT900T alone with a much shorter conversion time. ( At the expense of worse durability. However, durability is not a major problem if you use it in singles only.)

How much difference can an AT900 3U n 4U hold(tension)?1 to 2 lbs?Hoho..i'll never use my at900 in any doubles game.So i guess he'll just sit on the bench most of the time, since i mainly play doubles..lol

I don't think I will use any other racquet. This racquet is an excellent all-around racquet. All my good games were treated by me as if they were due to the excellent performance of this racquet. Today, I did two jump shots near the baseline to the other side's inner baseline! These are two spectacular and surreal smashes (I hope I can do them again). It helps to build my confidence too. I am paying more attention to my footworks than worrying whether I could make a good shot. When I have time, I will start to take lessons again.

No. You don't have to. Reduce the length of the overgrip and wrap it again. Try it a few times, and measure the balance point every time until the balance point is over 30.0 cm.

    Original balance point with string

    CanuckBur,

First of all, I tried searching for balance point in the forums and didn't find the answer to this: Where do you start measuring from? I will assume the bottom of the grip.

Secondly, my strung racquet already has the balance point 30 cm away from the bottom of the handle. If I add an overgrip which I'd like to use, the racquet won't be head heavy (even though it doesn't feel all that head heavy with no overgrip)...

    Oh it's an AT900T 3UG4...

    over 30 cm...
ok so this is what i gather
i measureed 30cm and its around at the 9 on the 900
upon putting the grip tape it is now at the 0 on the 900 the second position

so what u're saying is that i have to reduce the grip until its back on the 9 or more?

Here is a useful thread: http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=45670&highlight=measure+balance+point&page=2

Mine is a 3UG5. I remeasured my racquet's balance point, and it is actually 297 mm. I apologize to all of you who took it as in order to get the best performance from this racquet that it has to be over 300 mm.

When I got my racquet, I used the whole roll. I wrapped it until the shaft but its performance really bugged me. So I reduced the tape with each trial until I found what was best for me. It doesn't have to be over 30 cm. My initial measurement was wrong (not 30.2cm). It is 29.7cm. You can try what I did by trial and error. Your solution is different than mine.

To answer your question, my balance point is between the 9 and the 0.
